I was able to buy what I wanted little by little, and it was fun like a festival. I liked the fact that it was a night market with lots of locals rather than tourists. It was very refreshing not to even have English written on it!
Here I bought a fruit called Sakura palm. It tasted strangely sweet and sour for the first time in my life.
For your information, I used a motorcycle with a sidecar to get from the hotel. Since I have a child, I asked a woman for a safe driving driver.
A female driver, who wears what looks like a light blue helmet on the steering wheel, gave me her business card and looked after me three times.

Great market. Great food. Clear (tranparent) and low prices and no pushy sellers. A lot of local visitors. Not too many tourists (yet). We tried local food that we didn't try before as you can buy them in small amounts. If you don't like it, you don't have to throw away a whole plate with food. You should definitely go there when staying in Kanchanaburi.

Superb food, mostly cooked for you whilst you watch. I loved the ambiance of the place and the very chilled vibes. only 1 downside, but its only my opinion is the amount of sugar they put into the drinks. I always say no sugar.
I had the best fried chicken I have ever tasted next to the bus station, it was blooming delicious, just as well I only found it on the last night.

Calling this a night market is a misnomer as it seems to be open day and night. The place is a true local market. Aside from the food stalls, most of the shops/stalls sell clothing and shoes, although there’s also some selling everyday items and toys. I really came for the food. The place is a true foodie heaven. In my humble opinion, the food stalls here are superior to the ones in Bangkok and the prices are much lower too. I ate here for 3 nights, so even a vegetarian will have no problem finding suitable food. A vegan will have problems though.

Every town, but also the smallest village, in Thailand, has its night market and it is an excellent attraction for a European tourist, not used to seeing the goods in such markets and the life that exists in these places.
I certainly appreciated the Kanchanaburi market even more strongly than those in Bangkok, for example, perhaps because it is less touristy and more visited by locals.
Quite large and there is everything from clothes to eat, especially tropical fruit (try mangoostin and rambutan) and fried food, without missing the infamous insects, at affordable prices by bargaining before purchasing.
For dinner or even after dinner, pop into this market for half an hour, you won't regret it.

Excellent night market with wide variety of Thai foods. If you are in town, definitely worth going there one evening. It is also very convenient since 3 of us had dinner with only 150 Bath

Ein ganz unerwartetes, tolles Erlebnis in Kanchanaburi. Eigentlich wollten wir nur kurz hin um den Night-Market anzuschauen, schlussendlich sind wir lange dort verweilt. Es gibt tolles Essen von ganz unterschiedlicher Art: von süss bis sauer, von roh bis frittiert, von Fleisch bis Fisch, von kalt bis warm.

If you’re staying in Kanchanaburi, this is the place to eat! The market is absolutely bustling all the time, it’s not aimed at tourists so all the food etc you get is high quality and super cheap. There is array of food offerings, selling some “delicacies” but even for the fussiest of eaters there’s plenty of choice. At the far right corner (as if you’re looking from the main road, and at the opposite end of the row from the massages) you will find some bars that sell food drink, directly opposite behind one of the stalls there is some concrete seats. We are our food there as we were a bit of a distance from our hotel.

This area is part of a night market full of local food. and traditional food that tourists should not miss! Kanchanaburi is known as 'Turung', meaning all night until morning. Kanchanaburi people love to buy food. and staff here Selling at local prices... and full of Kanchanaburi local life! Cheap prices and service with a smile.

There are 2 and sometimes 3 night markets in Kanchanaburi. One is next to the bridge over the river kwai, another one next to Kanchanaburi railway station called JJ Market and another one in the center.
All have a great variety of snacks, food and drinks along with all kind of clothes, bags and other handy things to buy.
This is basically the only thing you can do in Kanchanaburi during the evenings since a lot of the restaurants and drinking places are out of business as a consequence of the COVID crisis.
The people are super nice and very helpful.
There are multiple temperature checks and hand sanitizers is everywhere available so you can safely walk around.
All have a great variety of snacks, food and drinks along with all kind of clothes, bags and other handy things to buy.
This is basically the only thing you can do in Kanchanaburi during the evenings since a lot of the restaurants and drinking places are out of business as a consequence of the COVID crisis.

the market opens everyday from 5.oo pm till 2.00am. and you can also find some food from 5.00 am to 8.00 am. for breakfast too. It's not easy to rent some space for foreigners. you have to ask the municipal of Muang, Kanchanaburi. (next to Kanchananukoah school) As I've known, the rent cost is expensive. But you can find a new open market opposite this night market for free only it opens every Saturday night.
