Didn’t go into the castle itself as it didn’t look outstanding enough to me having been in lots of castles over the years. I considered the main draw of this place being the hill views. Got the bus number 4 up the hill to the castle from the dolmus station in town, they run every 30 mins, then walked down the hill via the Bedesten, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Mounted Life Kemal Culture House, Ehmedek Kalesi & down to the Red Tower /KizilKule (there is an entry fee, I paid 150TL for a combo ticket to the tower & the shipyard) it’s a short walk from the tower along the beach walkways to the old shipyard. Walked back to the dolmus station via Cat’s Park (Kedi Evi Park).

We took the cable car up to the top of the hill and walked down, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots to see and do, some great photo opportunities and a great spot for Lunch with a view at the top. Very interesting history! Well worth a visit.

Home to Hellenistic Rome, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman Civilizations, the Historic Mosques of Homes is worth a sightseeing in a 10-acre building of 6 km long walls paved by the Walls, with past palm marks.
The museum is divided into two sections, the valid inner city and castle.

The only thing I liked about Alanya. Very comfortable climb. You can use the funicular or walk. A very beautiful view of all of Alanya. Better to visit without a tour, less crowded and not limited in time

You can take in the scenic scenery from the cable car to the castle at Kleopatra beach.But in the summer, you can wear comfy shoes with all the necessary gear.

Glad we went. Into Alanya, got the cable car up to the castle. Cost £15 for 2 of us. Lovely walk around, although very hot in August. Lots of little shops to get a drink or two. To about an hour and a half and came back down. Would go again

To get here the best is to go by cable car (it is not cheap) and to see the castle is almost the whole day because it is giant .
There are shops , mosques , bars and restaurants inside the wall . Stunning view.

The best place on the Mediterranean Sea if you like heat, hot sea, beautiful beaches and exotic climate. You have to drink a lot of water :)

Just back from Alanya went on cable car was 20 lira return up & down not sure how much castle was but walked the whole way up which was a very very steep rough walk up and got to castle and saw more steps to climb and decided to go back down again

Hi all, is it possible to visit the place with a kid trolley? Alternatively - to drop the trolley somewhere, walk with kid in hands, pick the trolley later?

Если ничего не изменилось , то с октября по март крепость работает с 9:00 -17:00.Фуникулер работает с 9:30. Нижнюю часть крепости можно посмотреть бесплатно , оплачиваете только фуникулёр 18 лир на взрослого. Стоимость верхней части крепости -20 лир .

Don't think they do pick up but if you go to the coast road which is just down the road from your hotel you can get any bus there, ask for kleopatra beach and the cable car up to the castle is just down the road from the bus stop, only 3 lira each way or get a taxi which won't cost much.

Здравствуйте, Алексей! Спасибо за Ваш отзыв. У меня к Вам вопрос. На каком транспорте и до какой остановки Вы ехали, чтобы дойти до канатной дороги? И в какую сторону от остановки идти? Мы семьёй так же, предпочитаем самостоятельно посещать подобные экскурсии, иначе, группой, что называется,"галопом по европам"

От остановки Пещера Дамлаташ я один раз поднималась в гору по канатной дороге, а второй раз — пешком. Пешком мне даже больше понравилось. По канатной дороге, конечно, легче и быстрее, но я, видимо, ожидала более эффектных видов. :)

Лучше брать с собой банковскую карту. Deniz банк меняет без комиссии. Можно снять наличные в банкоматах, их много.
И почти везде можно расплачиваться картой.
