天気が良い日に行きましたが素晴らしい景色に圧倒されました。
芦ノ湖の先には相模湾、駿河湾を見下ろしその先には伊豆大島もみえます。
富士山が裾野まで綺麗な姿で絶景写真スポットでした。
ロープウェイはEPARKでチケットをお得に購入出来たは良かったのですが、駐車場が有料（1000円）だったのはちょっと残念。せめてロープウェイのチケットを購入したら半額になれば☆5つ

Cable car up the mountain was dated, and the infrastructure looks like it needs some TLC and a coat of paint, but the view from the top is just awesome, especially Fuji-san (Mt Fuji), but also seeing the full expanse of Lake Ashi and even the Tokyo skyline in the distance. Its a pity that the ropeway is not part of the Hakone Free Pass - we had to catch a bus from Togendai to Hakone-en (only JPY470) because the ferry had closed, then there its another JPY1300 each up (and back) on the ropeway. Very cold on top - 3C + wind chill, but well worth the views.

前日は雨 その前の日は曇り 三日目にして やっと晴れの天気です。富士山には 雲がかかりましたが 頂上からは 相模湾や芦ノ湖がくっきりと 素晴らしい眺めでした。60年のロープウェイは 建物も歴史を感じました。熊笹が一面いっぱいでした。

初めて箱根駒ヶ岳ロープウェーに乗りました。急勾配で上を見上げると駒ヶ岳が急速に近づいてきて迫力があります。また、急こう配のため出発地点が遠くなり、驚くばかりです。また、だんだんと芦ノ湖の全体像が見えてきます。本当に景色の良い、迫力を感じられるロープウェーです。

芦ノ湖畔から見えるのは最初の鉄塔でその３倍距離のある、見かけより長いロープウェーです。確か片道７分ほどでした。
曇天かつ残念ながらガスが出ていて富士山は見えませんでしたが、晴天なら絶景だろうと想像できます。
展望台～箱根元宮をお参りして、一周するまで約40分ほど、とても清々しかったです。
また天候を見てリベンジしたいです。

登っていくにつれ見えるものが多くなります。最初は芦ノ湖、富士山、駿河湾、相模湾、初島、大島〜〜こんなに眺めがいいなんてびっくりです。しかし山頂にあるロープウエイの建物は古くて年季がはいっていて怖いです〜。往復大人１６００円。結構なお値段ですが〜またぜひ絶景を見に乗って見たいです！

We went by cab from HakoneYumoto station because we were trying to get there before Mt Fuji clouded over.
However, the base station is called Hakone-En. There is a transit search page for the area (search for hakone-tozanbus Hakone Route Finder - can't post a link)
There is a bus that goes down the lake to Hakone-En from the north (Line W). How you get to it depends on where you are coming from. There are several bus lines that go to Togendai as well as the Hakone Ropeway from Sounzan at the top of the Gora cable car.

Hello where are visiting Japan in 4 weeks and just want to ask if you are referring to Hakone Ropeway as being close or the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway which is a different one

Hi, Just a question regarding the ropeway... Is this the same ropeway as the Mt. Komogatake Hakone Ropeway or are there two separate ropeways around the Mt. Fiji area. We will be staying in Hakone overnight and trying to get to the Mt. Fuji area for a 1/2 day of sightseeing.
Did you visit Mt. Fuji as an independent traveller or on a tour?

I don't know if there are two. I suspect this is the only one. It is perfect for a great view of Fuji, assuming that there is no cloud cover. We were on a tour. The gift shop at the Hakone ferry origin is a good shop with good selection and prices, better than at the Ropeway base.

We used the public transit and walked from the bus stop. I think I remember seeing parking at the base, but I don't know about the top. (Isn't the point to ride up to the top to see the view from there? If it were easy to get to the top by car, I am not sure that there would need to be a ropeway,) They might have added parking for the shops at the top after it was built and became popular. Sorry, I just don't remember, so I'm not much help on this one.

We are planning to ride this during our day stop at Hakone so it would be great if people could answer these questions I have:
1. How much does it cost for a round trip
2. what are the opening-closing times (will help order the things we do)
3. How long would it take to ride the ropeway from the bottom, walk around the shrine and come back down?

1080 Yen round trip, open from 8 or 8.30 AM to 3.30PM.
It took us about 1 hour, and only because it was freezing cold, in good weather you will want to spend longer at the top, as the views are awesome

Sorry can't give you a definite yes or no,,it will be better to check nearer your date of travel,,as the region has sulfuric gas build up underground,so they need to keep the area safe,,,just a tip there is lots to do besides that so don't miss out on the hakkone trip,,
