Jaap gave us a wonderful tour of Fukuoka. He made our honeymoon feel extra special. We went around the coast to indulge in fresh ika (squid) sashimi, still wriggling on our plate, hiked for a few hours to enjoy the crisp mountain air and a 360 view from the mountain peak, and sampled many other culinary delights along the way. We also visited several temples and toured the newly renovated Fukuoka castle. Jaap was a great guide; sharing lots of information with us, interpreting, and telling many stories of his adventures sailing all over the world.

Interessante en boeiende namiddag met Jaap.
Wandelend door Fukuoka weg wijs geraakt over het reilen en zeilen in Japan.
Een verademing om eens in voor ons verstaanbare taal iets te horen.
Japanners en vreemde talen zijn niet compatibel hebben we ondervonden.
Een stop in Fukuoka waard, gezellige vent, leuke babbel...

Through the forest along a small creek up to a peak with views over Fukuoka on one side and Saga on the other, the half day hike finished with a visit to a beautiful temple. Great views, great company, thank you Jaap.
