人気の施設で訪れる人は大人から子供まで楽しめます。園内は膨大な広さでゆっくりと見学すれば軽く見ても2時間以上はかかります。入ってすぐにサファリゾーンがありキリン，サイ，シマウマ，ダチョウなどのお迎えがあります。園内は動物の種別にゾーンが区別されており見学しやすい環境になっています。コアラゃホワイトタイガーーは見所です。歩きづかれたら無料の園内バスに乗って見学するのもいいと思います。遊園地，飲食店の設備も充実しています。

動物との触れ合いが目的でした。県のまん延防止が終わったので、触れ合いは再開するかと期待しましたが、引き続き中止とのこと。触れ合いを再開する予定はまったく無いとのことでした。

Surprisingly, a good experience. We must applaud the zoo for:
- close proximity to animals
- engaging penguin parade
- lovely animals
However, we were disappointed with not seeing the white tigers. The lions were lonely and so were the bears. Some of the bears were exhibiting behavioural problems. the sheep and goats were very dirty. One of the ponies' leg limping and needs to be looked at. Inadequate shuttle service. Entrance fee too low, needs to increase the price so that better care can be given to the animals.
Signage needs to be improved.

自分の住む近くの動物園を想像していたのですが、かなり広く、季節によっては絶対に水筒が必要です。（売店があるので問題は無いのですが）
動物の種類、展示方法も他よりも近くで観れる為、思わず滞在時間が長くなります。
またコアラも昼間はほぼ寝ているみたいですが、1匹だけモシャモシャユーカリを食べており、とても可愛く癒されました。
近くなら通いたいと思える程の規模ですので、是非是非オススメします。
動物の種類、展示方法も他よりも近くで観れる為、思わず滞在時間が長くなります。

If you like zoo's and you're in the Kagoshima area, then maybe you might liked to check this place out.
From Kagoshimachuo Station, you'll take the Ibusukimakurazaki Line (JR) to Goino Station. Roughly $3.00 for the fair and a twenty to twenty-five minute train ride. The train ride may seem a little bouncy. An older train but very clean and some great views as you travel along your way, to your destination station.
From the train station you'll walk south for five minutes, until you get to a split in the road, and you'll see a sign with arrows pointing the direction (in English saying Hirakawa Zoo/ Hinkowan Park) for fifteen minutes, somewhat uphill to the zoo. It is a nice walk from the station to the zoo. FYI. You'll pass the park entrance and continue upwards towards the zoo entrance.
Forgive me for not remembering the price. But I found the price very reasonable.
Upon entering, you'll receive a map layout of the park in English. They also have maps of the park, in many other languages as well.
The layout of the zoo is very nice. With explanations of each animal by their enclosures. Expect a lot of walking, but it's so worth it. Again, the layout of the park and the enclosures are set up very nice. So no matter where you're walking, they'll be a animal enclosure of some kind to see.
There are many areas where you can rest, go to the bathroom, and grab a snack. Prices for food, snacks, and drinks were pretty fair and I found it quite reasonable and good tasting. My friend and I stopped off at the cafeteria to grab a bite, before we were heading back. This was by the main entrance and above the gift shop. The menu was small but the food was really good and satisfying. Price also was very good.
My friend and I had a great time here and we both enjoyed this zoo very much. There is plenty to do and see while you're here. For the price, it was so worth it, and glad we visited.
Kudos to the region and the staff that make this zoo the way it is.

サバンナの展示が本当に素晴らしいです。背景にはキリマンジャロを思わせる、桜島。日本の動物園にはあまりいないマサイキリンがこちらには居ます。サイ、ダチョウもおり、日本のアンボセリ国立公園がそこにはありました。

這一個動物園不在市區裡面，我們曾經掙扎要去科學館還是動物園，後來因為天氣好我們還是選擇去戶外的動物園，剛好位置在於我們去的指宿市跟鹿兒島市路程的中途，所以算是順路一遊。停車的話，雖然沒有免費，可是也很便宜200日元，特別要留意是門票，因為動物園跟鹿兒島水族館，有一種聯票出售，如果遊客剛好要去這兩個景點，這個優惠應該挺不錯的，兩大一小這種套票買下來一共省掉1000元日幣。這裡地方算是挺大的，所以會有一個觀光巴士，免費讓遊客乘搭，但是問題在於很多下車的站，可是上車的話好像只有起點跟中間點兩個，所以我們還是走了很多路，之後在中間點，作為我們的起點，再從起點站巡迴一圈，用作為觀光車，當然在車上司機不會介紹動物純粹是運輸用途。裡面的動物，自己覺得最好看的長頸鹿，牠的頭會伸到橋上，甚至可以給遊客用手摸到，自行野餐的地方以及桌椅挺多的，不過餐廳就只有靠近售票口那邊才有。如果打算停留久一點在那邊的話，可以買一些食物過去野餐，應該是挺不錯的，整體來講是一個相當不錯的動物園，教育性，還有動物的健康程度，可看度也算不錯，尤其是帶小孩過去的家庭，值得推薦，平日過去就會少掉一些動物的表演，賺到的就是人流很少，逛起來很舒服。
