If you want to see Almaty as a local, Temir is the one with whom you should explore the city. He knows mountain routes very well and can show you places in the city, where locals hang out. He studied in USA, travelled in many countries, loves hiking, run a marathon and so on. Had an amazing days, met great people and enjoyed Almaty so much. Highly recommended for sure!

The authentic Almaty experience is not complete without having Temir (Tim) as your guide. From city sights and history to day trips and night life, Tim knows the best spots of his city. Tim is as gracious as he is knowledgeable, and will go out of his way to tailor the tour to your preferences and show you the Almaty that’s not in the tour books. I was afforded a rich understanding of Almaty, Kazakhstani culture, and the nascent and growing music scene in the city. Tim is a joy to hang around with, and genuinely enjoys showing visitors around. I give my highest recommendation!!

If you want an authentic experience of what the city of Almaty and the surrounding areas have to offer in terms of culture, nature and nightlife, look no further! Temirlan is a local guide with impeccable English skills and a deep knowledge and passion for his hometown - I highly recommend taking a tour with him!

Travelling with Temirlan is always joyful! He creates a good mood and positive vibes during the journey, he tries to show the best routes and cares about one's emotions and first impressions. I value that he respects others and keeps the right distance, overall making everyone feel important and comfortable. Will definitely try to go to Qayindy lake with Temirlan next time I am back in Kazakhstan.

You want to explore the real Almaty?! Then you definitely need to call Temirlan. He will show you all the beautiful and must see sights of the city, like old streets with a historical buildings, he can also take you to a museum or park, he knows all about hiking and you can find yourself in the Bukreev peak with an amazing view on the city. Also if u want to explore night life of Almaty, Temirlan can arrange you bar hopping. But for those who wanna get an unforgettable experience - Temurlan will take you to Charyn canyon or Kolsai lakes. You will definitely enjoy it!!!

Temir has a broad set of interests and that shines through his tours. As a photography enthusiast, he’ll make sure that you have the best shots (in terms of angles, light) as memories from your trip. As a mountaineer/hiker/marathon runner, he’ll show you the best trails and the mountains with the best views and with a varying difficulty level depending on your experience. As a talent agent (he represented DJs, design/development studios, singers), Temir has one of the widest (both international and local) networks in the city. So he knows the hottest bars, the newest restaurants, and the top parties. As a biography/Wikipedia geek, Temir knows a staggering amount of trivia which makes walks and hikes with him 10x more interesting.
When I have foreigner friends visiting Almaty, my rule is to always connect them with Temir. Then I’m 100% sure that they will have the Almaty experience to remember for life!

As someone who was born and raised in Almaty before moving to the U.S. for higher education, Tima (your tour guide, founder of Best of Almaty Tours) has a stellar understanding of Westerners and is skilled in using his experiences abroad to make Almaty and the surrounding region more accessible to foreign visitors and residents. Tima knows the history of Almaty in and out and has a passion for introducing guests to Almaty's hidden gems such as new and little-known bars and hangouts that don't even show up on Google Maps or 2GIS. Tima is very, very well connected in Almaty and knows people everywhere, so if you need anything, he can get it for you or help you find it. I highly recommend both Tima's tours of Almaty's city center, as well as his day trips into the mountains outside the city, to any and all visitors looking to delve deep into the heart and soul of this vibrant jewel in the middle of Central Asia.

Temir is super knowledgable about all the best spots around Almaty. He knows all the cool attractions, restaurants, bars, and music, and he also knows the best hiking trails in the mountains. He's also always running into old friends and making new ones. He is a really smart guy and speaks perfect English too, so his tours are sure to be educational as well as enjoyable. Highly recommend as a local guide.

Hi there, i would probably recommend you to start from hiking to Kok Tobe, it's a small hill with TV tower on top of it, then if everything is okay with your knees, you can try to hike to Kok Zhailau - perfect for beginners also one the best city views.
