Hi. If u are on public transport or pte vehicle (taxi or pte hire), the journey depends on traffic conditions. At times u can be cleared within 20mins (for both immigration sides - non peak hour), otherwise, be prepeared to sit/stand and wait for as long as 3hrs or more (for peak hours and super-peak hours like eve of Public Holiday or school holidays) If u are taking the KTM train from Singapore Woodlands to JB sentral, the whole process might be abt 30mins (top - not including waiting time to board the train at Woodlands CIQ or JB Sentral). I suggest u do Bookings for the KTM trains (either 1 way or with returns) via EasyBookcom. If u taking public transport, buses like 950 (from Woodlands Interchange), 160 (from Kranji MRT) can be used. Pte hires from JB to Singapore can be taken at JB sentral, but they charge at RM60 per Person.

Ezlink card can be bought at the Transitlink ticket offices or Card Replacement Offices or the Passenger Service Centre at MRT stations or bus interchanges. U can even buy at 7-11 stores in Singapore. The nearest u can buy one if u are from JB, is Marsiling/Kranji MRT. Just go to the Passenger Service Centre and 1 buy one card at $12 each. 7-11 sells at $10 per card. The stored value is $7(for those bought over the Passengers Service Centre & Replacement office) & u can top up at a minimum of $10 each time. Hope it helps.:)

There’s sbs transit bus 170 to queen transit from JB Sentral (this far cheaper than causeway link), but sure it takes sometimes to reach there, you can pay the fares to driver or you have nets or EZlink card you can easily tap in.

There’s no direct train, catch the diesel goes to Tampin/Pulau Sebang, if you lucky enough you can catch the commuter service to KL.

For travellers from S'pore, change train at Johor Bahru Sentral Station. Take the KTM to Tampin/Pulau Sebang (then take a cab or bus to Melaka); or to Seremban direct. There is no direct service to Melaka town itself.

The train goes to Singapore’s Woodlands train checkpoint. From there you need to take a taxi (or uber/ grab if you have the app) to your destination as the train checkpoint is not connected by the MRT network.
