Worth seeing if close by but nothing more than a few pics

I don’t think the pictures uploaded to TA are correct as I’m pretty sure the cat statue is in the middle of a roundabout. Worth seeing to snap a few pics but not a must do.

White Cat statue

White cat guards the entrance into Jalan Padungan.
Although not as famous as its cousin in front of Grand Margherita hotel, this white cat is definitely more fashionable.

Dressed for the occasions be it Deepavali, Christmas, and Chinese New Year!

Nice for taking pictures. The arch behind is also good for photos. When we were there, there were also beautiful Deepavali decorations.

White Cat Statue at roundabout

It is a white cat statue at Padungan roundabout, the statue is surrounded by bush and flowers beds. Nice place especially if you like to take photos. This place is very close and loacated at China Town area. Do the visit and take photos but also do the leisure walks along the main road, and stop for nice food or coffee break at one of the local cafe.

A drive by is a must

Our tour guide, Doris, and our driver, James, of Diethelm Travel made a quick stop by the Great White Cat Statue during our City Tour.

This is the original iconic cat statue of Kuching, built by Kuching South City Council.

The statue is definitely worth a drive by and a quick stop for a photo.

The statue is on a roundabout so the photo stop does need to be quick. But then I don't think you need long. If you're walking to Chinatown, you may have a bit more time to stop photos as your car won't be blocking traffic.
