St. Michael's Church or St. Mihail Church or Biserica Sfântul Mihail is a historic Catholic church in the center of Cluj's Old Town. It has a high steeple tower and a beautiful and worth seeing interior in Gothic style. Admission is free, open daily between 7:00 and 19:00.

Huge Catholic church in the most central point of the city in its main square. Lite temple seems to have been recently renovated.

Effectively beautiful, free admission. You can visit. There are some frescoes still intact or at least parts of them. There is a ladder at the bottom on the left two allows you to climb a tower.. when you get up there is a gate.

The claim that the interior of the superbly restored cathedral is "not worth seeing" is sheer nonsense. Of course, the austerity of a Romanesque-early Gothic basilica cannot be compared to the ornamentation of Baroque churches, but this building, "resurrected" in all its splendor, is a monument of stylistically impressive uniqueness.

It was built in medieval times. It served not only as romano-catholic church, but as unitarian and lutheran church, too.

Imposing CATHEDRAL that you will immediately notice, on a fairly large square.
On the outside it is truly gigantic...not so much inside. However, it is worth a visit. We climbed the stairs trying to get to the tip but...unfortunately there was a closed gate.
They obviously do events with organ etc...

3-day stay in Cluj with visit to the Turda salt mine, Sighisoara and Sibiu at Christmas time. Pretty town with transport, bus, tram. Beautiful monuments, churches. A very large Christmas market (more chalets than in Sibiu) with many local or Hungarian specialties such as kurtos (brioches) to discover..., a musical scene. Beautiful Christmas decorations. Stop by a Rosa bakery and taste a croissant with pistachio cream. Very pleasant stay at Christmas.

Abbiamo assistito alle funzioni religiosi (compresa la processione) della Pasqua: atmosfera serena, tranquilla, una semplicità a tratti di altri tempi. La cattedrale è imponente, scenografica, che domina sulla grande piazza della città.
