Kertesz Tibor, the Animal Handler is truly an amazing human being. The love Tibor exudes for those animals is definitely breathtaking to watch. He has the most dangerous job in the world. As we all know you can not truly tame a lion or tiger, but Tibor still manages to calm them. In addition, it shows Tibor has built relationships with them by providing mental stimulation, physical exercise, and emotional bonding. Greetings from San Antonio, Texas (USA).

This is one of the biggest and fun zoo from Romania.

This place should be shut down just for how they keep the elephants. Had to witness one of the two elephants swaying back and forth like a psych ward patient. Zero enrichment provided to them. Some of the enclosures seemed fine but many were way too small, dirty, lacking enrichment, and packed with animals One of the bird enclosures had mice eating seeds left on the floor and one of their wolves was limping. No wonder this place was nearly empty. It’s depressing to witness what goes on here. Don’t come unless you want to have your heart ache for these neglected creatures.

We have visited before in 2018 and we’re pleased to see that the
Zoo had survived the pandemic. Good to see the lions rehoused from Odessa.

The paths will lead you to the large enclosures of beautiful wild animals. Take your time to watch them.

NEGLECTED ANIMALS, HEARTBREAKING EXPERIENCE it was so sad to see that; the monkeys were literally in cages with very small space to roam around, and in their cages there was nothing bug dirt, no greenery at all; the bears and wolves have more space but same thing, zero vegetation to play with - one of the bear was going and coming like if is was mad, one of the wolves had wounds in the fur, you could see his skin.
We saw also the cage of the tiger, we didn’t see the animal but the cage was all made out of cement and concrete, once again zero greenery.
I really don’t recommend this place, it’s heartbreaking!

We visited this natural aream, and we were surprised by how big it is. A really great space for over 500 animals from 120 species. Maybe not everything look so good, but for sure with the help of many travelers who will chose to visit, the things will be better for animals. Anyway the zoo is one of the bigest from my country. A great place to spend free time here with kids who will see and learn a lot about all the animals from here. If you have time and want to help make a visit here! Worth it!!!

Immerso nel verde di un parco naturale, per una bella passeggiata è un piacere, lo zoo però male mantenuto, gli animali sembrano essere magri e tristi, le gabbie sporche e piccole per certi animali, come per esempio l'elefante... Belo per caminare anche nei dintorni della zoo, forse più bello... Prezzo per entrare all'zoo 20 lei a persona(adulto).

I give it 1 star for the lack of respect to protecting visitors against coronavirus. The staff should wear masks. All interior areas should require wearing masks and this should be enforced. Control of number of people entering the zoo and the interior areas should be implemented. Temperature is not taken at the entrance, a minimum triage measure. They leave panels where people can take photos by putting their heads, those should be removed. They set a very bad example for the visitors as well behaving as if the virus does not exist or is not serious - they are an institution! Otherwise the zoo is a relatively fine place, mid priced, with good variety of animals, but with bad conditions for the interior areas, they look like 1955 Gheorghiu Dej glorious times. I leave aside the controversy of whether humans should put animals in cages to see them, unless those animals are really special cases to be saved in the wild by this arrangement.

It is a beautifull place where you can relax at the upfront park that stands before entering the premises of the zoo .
The zoo is great with beautifull well enetrtained animals some in good shape some needs to be more closer watched , but generaly all the species i have encountered specialy the baby giraf, lions , deer, puma, bears , stork, peacock with his beautifull tail :)) worth every minute spend there with friends , family and children .
Also the parrots are so many and different and fishes and reptiles .
This is not a big zoo but as it is even if there are some things to be made better , worth every minute of my time .
I strongly recommend .
