There's no air conditioning at all, there's like ventilation in the hall, and the pH doesn't work either. The spirit is scary... the distances between the seats are minimal, walking when people are sitting is impossible. House of Culture in the 1940s and only

At the end of the masterpiece performance "Maya" in the auditorium of the Palace on the Yauza, an equally interesting conversation took place with its participants. We were all so impressed that the question to the director of the dance theater “Fora” from Yekaterinburg about the name of the performance did not arise immediately. It turned out that it has nothing to do with the history of ancient civilization. But the founder and director of the theater, Alena Zakhezina, calls all performances by names. Her parents wanted to name her, who was born on May 1, Maya, but not wanting her daughter to “suffer all her life,” they changed their minds. It turned out to be Alyonushka, but, as she noted with a laugh, “it still suffers.” The leadership qualities so necessary for a choreographer may have been passed down to her genetically from her parents, athletics coaches. Even the name of the theater "Fora" has a sporting character, and in order to unite four different temperaments into a dance group and exist together for 23 years, you need to have just that. By and large, the play "Maya" is just about them. It reveals the essence of each member of the team, but also shows that only in unity is their strength, as in that saying about twigs and a broom, only instead of them in the performance there are powerful ropes. Each performance, according to the perfectionist Alena, takes a long time to be born, sometimes painfully, but the result is a bewitching plastic masterpiece, a choreographic miracle that lasts 50 minutes, and it is impossible to take your eyes off it for a moment. Yulia Lepinskikh, Olga Kondratyeva and Olga Nekrasova form a single organism with their leader on stage, but at the same time each is revealed in a special individual role. Movement in the performance occurs in different planes - first on the floor, then rising on high heels, or climbing onto the structure of an improvised common house, spectacularly flying along the stage on the lounge, hanging on it in bizarre poses, and, once at the very top, breaking through a huge a curtain like the top of a snow-white mountain. How can you describe in words the beauty of movement, smoothness or impetuosity, sudden changes in rhythms, grace of plasticity? You just have to see it!
Moscow is the 13th city on the “Handicap” tour, and there were spectators in the hall who had specially come to the performance from other cities.
I was glad to hear that Alena considers Pina Bausch to be one of her idols, who for me, for example, is simply the goddess of contemporary style. It’s amazing what a stunning effect just four people on stage can produce, and at the same time, each viewer sees their own meaning in the performance, sometimes one that the creators did not even imagine. For me, the play “Maya” is food for thought about life, about the people nearby, about how four different destinies come together into one. There is a lot of symbolism in it. The ropes in the dancers' hands intertwine and diverge in different directions, like lines on the palm. Sometimes you need to argue very thoroughly in order for the right movement to be born, and one of the most striking “fight” scenes was born literally from such an argument. You must be able to listen and hear each other, look in one direction, run through life in one common rhythm. Until now, the four of them do everything together, distributing all responsibilities within their small team: costumes, lighting, sound, even installation of scenery. Truly strong Ural women! Some of the spectators saw in the play the life of a woman from a bride in a white dress to a giant shroud, but I was much closer to the idea of an eight-year-old boy, a brief retelling of which with funny schematic drawings is presented in the program of the play. And it ends like this:
- "These four will control the white winds and huge waves... they will be able to move the elements... and their home in any oceans... just because they decided to be together!"
I don't think there's a better way to say it.
Until this moment, the names of all performances were female. But during the discussion we were told one important secret - the next name will be a man's. Someone from the audience suggested - “Vitya?” Everything is possible, we’ll see on the next tour. Or should we follow the example of our fans and plan an excursion to Yekaterinburg for the spring?
I am sure that these four will also give birth to a potential “Vitya” together, because they are already indivisible, and another wonderful phrase very accurately defines the essence of the talented team:
- "Find yours and calm down"
At the end of the conversation, Alena said -
“Do you know what we will write on our page about this evening?
Moscow has a heart!"
It’s incredibly nice to hear this from artists about the audience.
Thank you, Fora!

On New Year’s Eve, a friend gave me two tickets to the theater and concert hall “Palace on the Yauza” for the play “Love Letters.” 20:00. The hall is full. Full house. Parterre. 14 row. There are two people on stage - He (Gosha Kutsenko) and She (Ekaterina Klimova). A magnificent story about the poignant love of two people through letters. Touching and funny. An interesting fact: the historical building, built in 1903 according to the design of the architect I. Ivanov-Shits and rebuilt in 1947 by the architect B. Efimovich, was featured in the Soviet film “Carnival Night”, and in the 1980s the first concerts of Viktor Tsoi and Boris Grebenshchikov took place here! ☝️For those who come here by car, parking around is paid, next to TKZ = 80 rubles/hour, a little further, near MELZ = 40 rubles/hour.

Before the New Year, we decided to create a festive mood for ourselves and went to a performance at the palace on the Yauza. A majestic building with columns, wide staircases with carpet paths, a decorated Christmas tree in the foyer, it was a gift for my husband and me for two. We purposefully went to the play “The Conversation That Never Happened,” based on the play by playwright Rodion Beletsky, directed by Vadim Danziger. I had already heard a lot about him, and attracted a star cast of performers: Alexander Nosik, Grigory Danziger, Ivan Zamotaev with his team “Zamataev Band”. Wonderful performance! It was as if we were moving back in time with the actors, recalling episodes from life. Despite the humor and comic scenes, the production is not easy. Reveals and brings to the surface important themes of the meaning of life and friendship. Shows how important it is to be honest with yourself and your loved ones, to be able to say important words, and to support you in difficult moments. According to the plot, the main characters find themselves in the airport waiting room, where they dot all the i’s. Vital, relevant, I am sure that everyone will recognize themselves in one of the many scenes. After the performance you still think about it for a long time; on the way home, my husband and I remembered our youth and our friends. Such a warm aftertaste after the performance with notes of sadness and nostalgia.

Hello. My name is Anastasia Maklashova. Today, January 5, 2024 at 19:00, I went with my husband to this performance “Faust. The fourth wall." After reading the reviews, we chose good seats and went to the theater. Disappointment set in so quickly from the performance that the evening turned sour after 15 minutes from its start. We found ourselves in wild shock and bewilderment at what was happening on stage. The feeling that the author, creating this performance, wanted to mock me. Vulgar jokes, openly naked go-go dancers, half-naked guys who tried to dance in sync, but it didn’t work at all. The idea that was voiced in the play by the actors themselves is “no matter what we do on stage, the artists are idiots, complete idiots, and eat everything up.” At first I thought that they were joking and that it was probably the author’s idea to show exaggeration behind the scenes and show a normal production in the second act. But no, I “rejoiced” early, gave hope to this misunderstanding on stage and it’s a pity I didn’t leave in the middle of the performance. In the second act, this nightmare continued, dancing from the club from naked girls, imitation of opera from the actress, rock music in a classical work that should not exist. I asked myself one question: “will this end soon?” My evening was ruined, I left in a terrible mood, I lost a lot of money for such a spit in the face of me, as a viewer. Everyone who was sitting in the stalls on the left did not clap. The adult generation was completely shocked. I don't deserve this attitude towards myself. The work, the stage and the art do not deserve such disgusting treatment. Shame, disgust and hatred - that’s what I experienced that evening! Wasted my time, my valuable time in my life!

A few days ago, in the beautiful Palace on the Yauza, I was lucky enough to watch a very interesting performance - “The Conversation That Never Happened.”
You know, there are such productions, light, with a lot of ironic moments, during which you laugh and leave the auditorium in high spirits, but at the same time, there remains an aftertaste and “field for thought.”
This performance is exactly like that! With humor, it draws the viewer's attention to serious and important life issues.
Airport. Waiting hall. Flight delay. Two childhood friends. Their shared memories. Nostalgia. A little sadness for the old days.
It would seem like a normal situation, nothing supernatural.
However, not all so simple! One of my friends recently died... and already knows - “What is there, beyond the line, after death?” and really doesn’t want to talk about this topic, but just wants to remember the moments we lived together, of which there were so many...
Together with the main characters, we travel through their memories - childhood, school years, we remember their acquaintance, first love, joint vacations, holiday romances, adventures, people who met along the way, ups and downs, mistakes and victories, sometimes very funny , sometimes sad, but in any case, very vital, involuntarily returns the viewer to his past.
The characters also remember their last conversation, thereby, as it were, pushing the idea of how important it is to appreciate those who are nearby, how important it is to live now and enjoy the simple little things that our lives essentially consist of.
The performance is truly deep, everyone will find something close and personal in it. And thanks to the simply amazing cast, you will live it in one breath!
The bright, charismatic Igor played by Alexander Nosik, who already knows “what is beyond the line” and Dmitry, brilliantly played by the talented Grigory Danziger, did not leave anyone indifferent. They seemed to be living their roles, and at some point, I forgot that I was in the theater, catching myself with the feeling that I was also waiting for my flight, watching random fellow travelers. The sensations of reality were complemented by, on the one hand, simple, but very thoughtful and beautiful scenery, which helped to move along with the characters through fragments of their memories.
And of course, I can no longer imagine this performance without the incredibly energetic, bright, spectacular Ivan Zamotaev, who transformed himself into every scene with such ease that he became the “highlight” of the production for me.
The members of the “Zamataev Band” group were pleasantly surprised and complemented the performance with wonderful, live music; each musical insert is a separate delight!
Definitely, I would like to recommend “The Conversation That Never Happened” to those who love philosophical productions, after which there is something to think about and reflect on.
Many thanks to director Vadim Danziger, actors and musicians for this magnificent performance!

We liked the theater. Not at the very top of Moscow theaters, but it turned out to be one of the most comfortable and accessible in terms of location: only 3 minutes from the metro, or you can leave your car near the entrance, there are enough parking spaces.
We went to the play A Conversation That Never Happened. Laughed. The production is great! Especially relevant for those who already have their own baggage of experience, wisdom and friendship. Danziger and Nosik demonstrated, Zamotaev confirmed - the stars of the stage, in a word. Class!
The chairs in the auditorium are comfortable, soft, wide enough, so you don’t sit right next to your neighbor. We didn’t even notice how time flew by, there was nothing in the way.
Due to the price, we chose the side seats, but the stage and the entire production were clearly visible. There was a lot of live music in the performance and it sounded great acoustically and could be heard from our seats.
I sincerely recommend visiting the Palace on the Yauza and, of course, the performance The Conversation That Never Happened, it is beyond praise!
