Guide tour is held at the Museum. Mainly inside of the museum, So garden walk during the season of Cherry blossom walk thru is not expected.

There is 3km from JR Osaka station to the destination. Alternative plane is use Tanimachi-subway from Higashi-umeda to Higashi-morimachi, and the walk 15 min. Near by you can see Osaka-jou castle.

From memory it was free. The shop sold many interesting items. The walk along to the museum was picturesque and interesting. You could take pics on the foyer, lovely clock. It is closed on public holidays in Japan. I would phone up because I had to go twice. The metro station is a fair distance away. The best time to visit would be March when the Trees are in full bloom. Opposite side of the river very interesting museum and park.

Cherry blossom is vary by the climate. Therefore, it is very hard to meet to Cherry blossom timing. Even your schedule is not meet the blossom timing, you have chance to see the blossom in other area, Nara, Kyoto, Kobe etc.

You can take JR line to Osaka main station. And then transfer to the subway Tanimachi line (the station is not Osaka, but Higashi-Umeda). Then get off at Minami-Morimachi and walk about 15 minutes. This is the easiest way.
