The botanic garden did not impress because it was poorly maintained (broken benches) , lack of description on vegetation and should contain plants and trees in what is diversity of flora of tropics
However , disappointment mitigated by walkabout discovery of this local comic museum ! the curator certainly made our day with expose of the local cartoonists esp Lat and Gila Gila artists
the $5 entrance fee hardly would cover their operating costs so don’t hesitate as RM5 cannot buy you much in malaysia these days

This is a must see if you are into cartoons and comics. Seeing comics with a twist of rich malaysian culture is an experience. We were deligthed with the pictures and how warm we were welcomed there by all the stuff. You can also get your portrait drawn by an artist for as little as 15MYR.

A visit to the Lake Gardens should definitely include a stop here. The museum is rather small, but for a minimal entrance fee of RM5 per adult, you get to view some original pieces of work by Malaysian cartoonists both past and present, and learn something about the comic scene in Malaya and Malaysia in general. There is also a small souvenir shop inside, and the museum is housed in a new, comfortable, air-conditioned building.
The museum curator, who happens to be a cartoonist himself, kindly showed me around and explained some of the comic works on display and the history behind them. A visit here should take no more than an hour, but if you're a cartoon fan like myself, or someone who is into drawing and arts in general, you could easily spend a much longer time! Highly recommended, and it's good to know that all proceeds go to the upkeep of the museum.

Located in lake Gardens/Perdana Botanical Gardens, this is a gallery showcasing the development and history of Malaysian cartoons and comics. Displays of original hand drawn artwork provide visitors with insight on life in Malaya in days gone by. A visit here can be combined with a visit to some of the attractions nearby.

Sept. 2017 . Während einer Stadtrundfahrt besuchte ich unter anderem das Cartoon und Comic House . Es werden nur Comics und Cartoons aus Malaysia gezeigt , die sind bei uns völlig unbekannt . Aber wer Comics mag , ist hier am richtigen Ort . Ein kleines Cafe ist auch noch da .

It's a new place to go in Perdana Botanical Garden. The gallery display the history of Malaysia comics. Outdoor is good to click photo. Admission fee - RM10/adult & RM5/adult

マレーシアの漫画文化を垣間見るのに最適な美術館です。展示の仕方も工夫されており、ごちゃごちゃしておらず、飽きさせません。

I love Lat cartoons!
Chanced upon the House of Cartoon and Comic Malaysia ('Rumah Kartun dan Komik Malaysia') one afternoon. It's a small gallery showcasing Malaysia's comic book history and culture. Met a veteren cartoonist, Encik Tazidi Yusof, who was so kind to give a guided tour of the gallery 😊. We spent less than an hour here; from hand-drawn original works to digital prints, black & white to colour drawings ... imagine it all started way back from before Malaysia gained independence, 1928!!
Pianocello, another reviewer, is spot-on to suggest that some interactive exhibits would make the gallery more interesting.

Considering the rich history of Malaysian comics, it is timely that we finally have a museum to Malaysian comics. The curator guided us and even allowed us to stay beyond closing hours. It was interesting to see the evolution of Malaysian comics through the decades and how they were less conservative in the past.
While the location is excellent as you can easily combine this with other attractions in the Lake Gardens, for the price, it is too small and might not appeal to foreigners. It needs more interactive or special temporary exhibitions.
