This is part of the MUST. Along the sans souci road as it meanders into the mountains, the fantastic !!! View from the teeppavilion and the mission lodge and back down to the other side of the island to Port Glaud. It doesn't get greener anymore!!! Thank God everything costs admission, then it is not so full of tourists;-)

I was in a group tour during a cruise, it is a very pretty and peaceful forest area, not much to see but just to enjoy nature and the beautiful view for a few minutes.

This place is a tourist trap. There is absolutely nothing to see. You can see the same views from almost anywere in Mahe Island.
NOT WORTH IT to pay 100 Rupees per person (children also paying 100 Rupees).

We decided to stop here for a little look and paid the entrance fee, which we thought was quite a lot. It was a short walk just to see some ruins and a view of the coastline. Only a maximum of 15 minutes was needed there and we'd paid £6 each!

We rented a car from the SEZ Airport to visit the Victoria Botanical Garden, drive the twisting Sans Souci Road to this 1,500’ viewpoint, then return along the beautiful north coast Grand Anse, Anse Boileau & Anse Takamaka Beaches, a 70km day circuit.
After parking in the lot across the street, we crossed to pay 100 Qar each to enter the Mission Ruins of Venn's Town, declared a Tentative UNESCO site in 2013. This 50 acre site was set up in 1876 by the Church Missionary society as an industrious school for children of liberated slaves and used until 1889 for vanilla and cocoa cultivation.
We walked 100m up a paved lane to its memorial statue and missionary ruins, then 100m farther on a wooded trail to the Queen Elizabeth Lodge. This covered viewpoint has a panoramic view of the north coast and the granite cliffs of the green Morne Seychellois mountains with distinctive stands of mimosa trees filling the valleys.

View was beautiful but very little information about slavery. The only thing you could see was one ruin. It was definitely NOT WORTH THE MONEY !
For the money I expected some sort of tour or guide explaining in more depth but we only got some measly boards with some information.
Compared to like the Takamaka rum distillery, you pay 125rupees for not only an extremely in depth tour but also the tasting of 6 different rums which is much more worth it.

How is drive in mahe comparing dubai . Easy or difficult ? Easy to understand road signs,?
撰写日期:2015年8月21日
I did not drive myself and didn't visit all of the island, but of the roads on which I did travel, it didn't look too hard, especially compared to a large city like Dubai. Note that they do drive on the other side of the road, British-style, so that would be different and take some adjusting. Some roads are a bit narrow and windy as you would expect. Otherwise the island is small enough and the road system pretty simple so you wouldn't get lost. And other drivers seemed pretty courteous unlike many drivers in the UAE. Having a car would definitely allow you to explore more of the beautiful island and not constrain you to one area.
