I recently hiked the Copolia Trail in Seychelles, and it was absolutely worth every step! This trail is moderately challenging, but the effort is rewarded with some of the most stunning views I’ve ever experienced. The lush tropical surroundings create a scenic pathway that feels like an adventure through paradise.
The trail is well-marked, and it took me around an hour to reach the summit. Once there, I was greeted with panoramic views of Mahé Island and the beautiful coastline. Standing on the granite rocks, I could see the lush forests and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean stretching out beneath me. It’s the perfect spot for photos and simply soaking in the natural beauty

Beautiful trek in lush forest and incredibly rich in varieties!
It is still quite sporty but very well marked. It took us 45 minutes to get up and the same time to get down. The panorama at the top is breathtaking!
You have to be very well put on and spray yourself with mosquito repellent before leaving. Also provide a bottle of water per person. It's a really nice walk!

Hiking which climbs a lot however it is short 1km2
Difficult for 6 year olds

Very good trail! It's climbing! Made with 3 children from 6 to 12 years... it is done! With good shoes and water! The view on arrival is beautiful! Paid admission for adults 200 rupees in total...

It’s a tough walk. Very steep in places over lots of tree roots. Wear good shoes and bring plenty of water as humidity much higher in the jungle.

Apart from Anse Marron, Copolia was our favourite trail in Seychelles - the road is nice, you can park a car down the road, and the view on the top is amazing. It took us 40 minutes to go to the top, the trail was not demanding at all. Comfortable shoes and water are a must have here.

The path goes completely through rainforest, so it offers good protection from the sun. I set off shortly after 8am and there was a pleasant breeze. It took me an hour to get there, including short breaks for photos and a short break to sit down.
The view from the platform is magnificent. Make sure you put on sunscreen and mosquito repellent, the sun is blazing on the plateau.
I would definitely wear sturdy shoes.
Important: You can only pay for entry with a credit card. There is a well-maintained toilet at the ticket office.
There is parking a few metres below the ticket office on the side of the road.

A good walk in a forest, as the guides say it is a medium walk a goodish fitness level is required. Entrance fee is required to enter.

The trail is easy to follow and moderately challenging (roots, rocks, steps, a short metal ladder, at times quite steep), there are a good number of signs with information on fauna and flora, the forest is beautiful and varied, and the view from the top over Victoria, Mahe east coast and the many small islands is very nice.
I recommend hiking boots, insect repellent, and plenty of water.

Hi we were planning on doing the copolia trail this morning and it’s raining a bit. We are still keen… is it unsafe or just that the views from top won’t be nice enough?

I used a tour guide/company (Island Exploration Seychelles) who picked me up at hotel , but I would guess around 15-20 minute drive from port up mountain to start of trail along steep winding roads. Not sure if there is a bus service but if you take a taxi be aware they are very expensive in Seychelles and may cost you up to €50 for the journey. Definitely worth doing as views from top are amazing but it is quite a tough steep walk. Enjoy.

How we can get to copolia trail without car? Maybe there are some buses from Victoria? Or it’s will be better take a taxi? We live on a Baie Lazare)

For sure there are buses from Victoria and there's a bus stop at the start of the trail (bus will probably take about 30 minutes from Victoria). As the trail start is a little hidden, best ask the driver to tell you when you're there. In terms of getting from Baie Lazare to Victoria, I'm not sure, but I presume there are buses.

Confused ! What is the difference between Copolia trail,Trois freres trail, and Morne national park.. what is the best for hiking? Which has the best top scenery?

Copolia and Morne Blanc gives you a birds eye view of Mahe Island. If hiking is on your to-do list and you don’t mind manoeuvering through trees and climbing a little steep climb, then you should choose Copolia Trail.
You will not regret the sweat, pain and shredded calories when you find yourself amidst clouds at the top. The view is really breathtaking from up there and if you are lucky you will have some friendly encounters Enroute.
Morne Blanc is easiest among the three but the view at the top is not as great as at Copolia.

When I did the walk, there was a security guard posted at the start of the trail. I'm not aware of any guide or guard who may accompany tourist on the walk. On weekends there are usually groups of locals walking the trail and of course there is safety in munbers.
