Use during the liberation war 1. CPC building. Ankara is a must-visit, not to be seen. Discount applied. It gets a bit crowded, but worth the visit.

It’s truly worth the visit. If history is a museum, it’s a must-do when you’re in Ankara.

Construction of the First Turkish Grand National Assembly building in Ankara National Square began in 1915. The building was designed as the club building of the First Alliance and Terakki Society, designed by the evkaf architect Salim Bey, and was built by the military architect of the column, Hasip Bey.
The two-story building in Turkish architectural style is best distinguished by its walls with Ankara stone.
Unfinished when Parliament decided to assemble in this building on April 23, 1920, the building was completed with the participation of the people as a result of a national rush.
Between April 23, 1920 and October 15, 1924, the building was used as the First Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which was later served as the General Center of the Republic of Turkish People's Republic and the Law Center, was transferred to the Maarif Vekalet in 1952, and in 1957 was started to work to convert into a museum. The building was opened to the public on April 23, 1961 as the "Museum of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey."
As part of the program celebrating the 100th anniversary of Ataturk's birth, it was reopened to visit in 1981 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums as a result of restoration and promotional work on April 23, 1981 under the name "Museum of the War of Independence".
I. Opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
On April 23, 1920, thousands of people around the House, in a large crowd, waited for the opening of the House. After the necessary ceremonies, the Assembly held its first meeting with 115 representatives. The first opening address of the Assembly was delivered by Sinop Mebusu Sheriff, the oldest member elected President of the Assembly.
"Dearest found;
Independence is known to be limited in all respects, with fraud and temporarily occupied government center by foreign forces. Standing in this position means our nation accepting the foreign imprisonment offered to them. But since its resolve to live with full independence, our free and independent living nation has firmly and resolutely rejected this exorcism, and has immediately begun to assemble its representatives, bringing to life its High Assembly. I open the Assembly of the People, organizing my own future and proclaiming it to the whole world, within the full independence of our nation, both internally and externally, by the name of the Lord and with the help of God."
Following this opening speech, Ankara deputy Mustafa Kemal made the following statement about what redemptions the Assembly would incur.
"Your High Assembly, as you know, was composed of honorable, extraordinary powers and re-elected MPs who came here, saving their lives from the looming and occupied rule centre. The establishment of a High Assembly, with members who may have escaped, was but the newly adopted way of elections. Your Assembly is currently legally meeting."
On April 24, 1920, the second session of the Assembly was held and Mustafa Kemal was elected President of the Assembly.
Mustafa Kemal delivered a long and meaningful speech during this meeting,
“The High Assembly is no longer in power,” he highlighted.
The War of Liberation, the successful management of Gazi Mustafa Kemal and 1. Completed by decisions taken in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. These resolutions include the adoption of the first constitution on 20 January 1921, the adoption of the Esthetical March on 12 March 1921, and the removal of the Saltanate on 1 November 1922. On the other hand, the Treaty of Peace of Lausanne on 24 July 1923, the constitution of Ankara as the capital of the Republic of Turkey on 13 October 1923, the proclamation of the Republic on 29 October 1923, and the election of Gazi Mustafa Kemal as President of the Turkish state were approved again.
In a speech, Ataturk emphasized the importance of the Grand National Assembly, "the essence of the centuries-long search of the Turkish Nation and its self-management is a living cornerstone of the idea."

There is this museum, literally, adjacent to the former Parliament building (TBMM), now a museum. And in general, there are quite a few museums in this area: Ankara palas, PTT (Museum of Post), İş bankası (Museum of National Bank), also close to Genclik Park and Moon Park. In general there are many such museums, but considering that there are other attractions nearby and it does not take up a lot of time and money, then you can come in

The building was used as a parliament building between 1920 and 1924. There's a whole lot of history inside. There is a table in the museum where the Lausanne Peace Treaty was signed. Summer and winter closing hours vary.

It is impossible not to get emotional. Every piece in the museum, every step you take takes you back to those days, as if you lived in those days. May God bless them all 🇹🇷🙏 We owe our today and tomorrow to them

We walked here from our hotel. Entrance was 125 lire (£4) and I think that covered the Parliamentary museum just down the street too. The museum was fascinating to see how much was done by such a small group of people that transformed the entire country. There were information boards, in English, in every room and plenty of artifacts and uniforms as well as the rooms themselves to put things into context. It certainly helped me understand a period that I didn't really know much about.

Located in a 17th century building, this is the place from which Turkey's struggle for independence after the wreckage of WWI was directed. It is an awe inspiring story which, unusually, for a national founding mythology, is a place where mythology and fact coincide. Well worth a visit along with the Republic Museum. 60 TL for both per person.

1920-1924 yılları arasında meclis binası olarak kullanılmış bina. İçeride savaşta kullanılmış silahlar, bazı vekillerin kişisel eşyaları ve Lozan Barış Antlaşması’nın imzalandığı masa var. Müze kart geçerli.
