My family has been in and out of The Natty Dresser each summer for the last two years. And times between. TND store is a treat. Seeing them move from their old store to the new larger building was a delight. I hope they have more such success. It is well earned.
There are few good rites of passage that mark growth and maturity in our modern world. Getting a well tailored suit is one such practice that remains. It is not simply for show, but for self-respect and respect of the event and people involved in the event, which serves as the reason for getting dressed up. Perhaps it is a bit of a luxury. It certainly feels luxurious.
Having someone take the time and skill to help a person present their best self and have confidence is not simply a luxury though. It is an investment in time, effort, and skill that gives weight and meaning to statements like, "This is my son with whom I am well pleased." Or more simply, "I love you." My daughter did not wear a suit to get married, but her husband was dressed in a suit fitted and provided by The Natty Dresser. On their day, it was part of how he said, "You're worth my best effort."
Whatever the case, there is a lot that can be said by how we dress. Understanding what it means to dress comfortably and confidently is an understanding that grows from experience and with one generation passing that knowledge to the next. So is learning how much meaning fills a suit which is more than simply a body; it is expectation, desire, honor, respect, hope, and dreams.
I'm grateful to everyone at The Natty Dresser for being part of my family's life. The memories that were made with and in The Natty Dresser's suits will not be forgotten. They will be cherished.
This review site limits this review to one reason and helping one age group or set of people. This is fine but this review encompasses years of great help: proms, multiple weddings, business trip, birthdays, and simple pleasure. In that, folks at The Natty Dresser have helped 5 year olds to 50 year olds and all ages in between. If it is not clear, I love The Natty Dresser. It is not empty praise. They have earned it over years of excellent support.

Friendly folks and great clothing. More like a big city store with a small town feel. If you want quality goods these are the folks to see.

I found Oscar and the Natty Dresser from a local merchant referral (Brigitte) and was immediately impressed. The selection, attention to customers and the feel of this establishment was nothing less than refreshing. The building restoration is well done and noteable.
I was concerned that a high end mens shop would not succeed in Albany, but was told they were getting ready to celebrate year 5. Speaks volumes.....well done.
If your inclined toward both upscale casual or formal ware this is a worthwhile destination. From their hats to the shoes.....

Once again the Natty Dresser delivers with style.
My favorite clothes come from this wonderful store. Oscar and his staff are a example of what I think customer service is about. Throw in quality and unique garments and in my book it’s the complete package.
Being a working musician, I like to dress the part making this store my go too!

I was so impressed with the service provided by the personnel at The Natty Dresser. On our first visit we were helped by Nathaniel who was extremely helpful, polite and professional. On our second visit we were helped by Oscar who was also attentive and efficient. I would also like to mention that on our first visit I witnessed Oscar assisting another customer who was difficult and rude, Oscar maintained his composure and professionalism throughout the interaction, which I was quite impressed with as he never lost his smile. All in all it was a very positive experience and we will definitely return again for next years tux rental as well as other purchases throughout the year.

This is a gem of a store with beautiful clothes. Old Albany restoration......such atmosphere and personal touch.

This is a wonderful men's shop in Oldtown Albany. They have a great variety of very nice quality men's merchandise and other related items. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about all their apparel. You can even get an old fashioned shoe shine. A really great store. I'll certainly go back.

This men's store in historic downtown Albany Or is what a fine men's store used to be.
The quality of clothing, and accessories is top drawer. Throw in service that harkens one to another era, make the Natty Dresser my go to!
In addition to some of my favorite clothing items I have had alterations done (in house tailor) and two of my hats repaired and refurbished.
These guys do it right!

It is a relief to know that the owners of this store carefully select clothing that will stand the test of time. Their super helpful staff will help you find exactly the clothes you are looking for and make sure you are getting the proper size you need. Their tailor is also excellent and reasonably priced!

While shopping downtown Albany this week, we went into the Natty Dresser to look around. The shop front has wonderful curb appeal from the street, and it is just as beautifully decorated inside the shop. The woodwork and the detail of the displays are amazing. The selection of men's clothes is wide and varied. From socks, pocket squares, shirts, vests, pants, and jackets. So many clothing choices to look through.
My husband found a pair of pants that he wanted to try on. As he came out of the fitting room, he had two comments. One~he loved the pants. Two~he wanted me to see how the fitting room was decorated. It was a big space, good lighting, a huge mirror, plus it was decorated in a golf theme. Two thumbs up!
The pants were then marked for the correct length, and the alterations team will have them ready to be picked up in less than a week! Such service!
We will be back often to see what new selections are available as the season change. The service given here is far above any clothing store we have been in such a long time.
This is a wonderful addition to our Albany community and the surrounding areas. Please make this a "must stop" when you are shopping downtown Albany!

Do you carry big mens sizes?

We do carry some Big & Tall.
We try to keep at least a few XXL sizes on the floor (Shirts, sweaters, underwear...).
In suits and sportcoats we stock up to size 50, but can order larger sizes.
Pants are normally stocked up to size 44.
We are happy order things that we carry in sizes that are not in stock, but we need some lead time on that.
