This park was excellent! The play ground equipment was clean and well kept for sure. It is large, so my kiddo certainly never got bored as he had much to explore. We also walked by the water too. You do have to pay to park, but we spent enough time there, so it was worth it.

I passed by the other day, trying to figure out if the Zilker Zephyr was back in operation. Lots of young parents with small children having fun. Really a nice array of equipment, in what appeared to be a well laid out, safety conscious set up. I look forward to going here with my grandchildren in the near future.

This is a great place for a picnic! the grounds are beautiful. You can watch people swim, walk the park, dip your feet in the water near the playground, or allow your kids to run off all their excess energy or sugar high. Dogs are welcome here. Sometimes there are too many for comfort.

With a couple of children´s playgrounds, trails and even a small working passenger train, the park is a great option for a family outing.

I have been to many parks but this one has something for everyone a must see with little ones and you must ride the train!

They have two areas. One area is a bit smaller, designed for kids age 2-5. Good for kids as long as they can walk. The other one for ages 5-12. (My just 4 year old had no problem running around that one.)
That’s pretty cool as they built bridges to you can watch miniature train. We were there on a sunny cold winter day.
The train station of the miniature train is right there too. It was going once an hour at the whole hour.
We also walked down the stairs to the creek to play with rocks.
Our 4 and 6 year old had lots of fun!

The Zilker playground in located in the large Zilker park. It has some nice features for kids. Nearby the playground is a small "Zephyr" train on which adults and kids can ride, for a fee, and it takes you around part of the park. The train ride is run and recommended.

passed by on the way to the Zilker train...lots of whopping and hollering!!! happy kids, smiling moms enjoying a bit of a rest...the older boys enjoying the bridges over the train tracks and "cutting up" for the train passengers!!!

Took my grand daughter here a couple of times and she loves it. The little train is nice for a ride and if it's hot they can cool off in Barton creek. It is shallow enough most of the time for them to play without danger. There will be dogs and kids everywhere. The play equipment is a little lacking but there's enough to keep them busy and when they get tired they can grab a snack at the snack bar or a drink to recharge.
