As wildlife lovers, there was absolutely no chance we were going to pass up the opportunity to go to a place called "Silverback Distillery" as we traveled through the Virginia countryside. The name hooked us, and we were so glad it did. Zane, the bartender/tasting host was very knowledgeable and accommodating when we rolled in slightly after opening time. My husband and I tried a flight and each had a cocktail (smores and blushing mandrill) as well. I can't even explain how yummy the Smores was. If you like it when your marshmallow gets a little burnt as you hold it over the flames, this drink is for you. We wound up buying a bottle of gin and honey rye whiskey to take home. It's so much fun when you find small, local spots while traveling, and it's even better when they turn out to be really good.

What a great find! We tried the flight and drink and all of the choices were great! We left with a bottle of whiskey for at home. The bartender was knowledgeable and fun!

I flew into the area to meet a local co-worker with the primary goal of visiting Silverback Distillery. Alexis took us on an amazing tasting of Lucky 13 Rye, Blackback Honey Rye, Strange Monkey Gin and a small sampling of your 4 grain Bourbon. We topped that off with a couple smoked cocktails which were the best I have ever tasted. I was impressed with your product and the Riggleman family story. Christine & Lauren, I am a big fan. I left with bottles of your gin and Lucky 13 and will be back after you bottle your next batch of bourbon. Alexis, I cannot thank you enough for the attention and service provided; what a great experience!!

Beautiful November day!
The pit bull at the door was not pleasant. Most unfriendly business I have been in. There was a group of ten of us… they were not welcoming or cordial. I was ready to taste and buy, as were others in our group. Merchandise was minimal. Will never return.

Everything we tasted was very good, but some of it was just not our thing. We both enjoyed the Honey Rye. While there was outdoor seating, it was not open while we were there. The indoor bar seating was small and there were 3 other groups there tasting while we were there. While the bartender did where a mask, she kept pulling it down to talk, removing any effectiveness it had. It was the least comfortable we felt while traveling on this trip. Pre-covid, it would have been a completely different experience.

We went here for a bachlorette party and enjoyed ourselves. We were a little dissapointed when they said we had to sit outside (it was WARM) but thought it was really cool that the planes and parachutes were right there!
There was another large group there and when they left we wanted to move but were told your seat is your seat... We felt like the staff was a little short with us and not all that kind. There were several other parties that cane and went so we wondered if it was just a super busy day! With that being said, they staff was extremely knowledgeable on the drink selections and offered suggestions that did not dissapoint.
We all ordered something different and they were all ANAZING! There wasn't a single one that wasn't delicious. They really know what they are doing! We we definitely go back aby chance we get!

This is a great place to stop and try some distilled spirits. My husband (who hates gin) actually said that their gin was drinkable, which is high praise coming from him. The honey bourbon is the best thing they've got!
