In the cemetery in front of the church, you will find the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution. It is a lovely monument. There is a container at the monument which contains free brochures so you can read about the church and the monument. It is off the beaten path, but well worth a detour.

This is a very small place but steeped in history. Had the honor to be part of the ceremony to place a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier. We did not go into the Meeting house but saw the inside from the windows. Parking is an Issue here but there is parking all around.

Historic Church. Nice grounds. Tomb of the unknown American Revolutionary Soldier is in the back. Probably only worth the visit if you are attending a specific service or meeting.

This is an historic meeting worshop place since 1760's. For many travelers and visitors, this is another historic place and landmark that is stilll and continue to provide services and functions. Nice place to visit and learn about the history. It is located in the same area with the Basilica of Saint Mary. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Services are at 8:30am (with Communion) and 11am Sunday School at 9:30. There is a fellowship hour after the 11am service where it is easy to meet people and become part of this friendly community.

We found the history at The Meeting House, as with most of Alexandria so interesting. The burial ground contains the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier which is worth a visit in itself. The burial ground was used prior to 1809 and although only a handfull of stones remain the one that are readable are incredible pieces of history.

Established before the American Revolution, this vibrant church is going strong. Interior is in the colonial manner (though the church burned down and was rebuilt); colonial Alexandria leaders in the rear burial ground, including the Unknown Soldier of the Revolutionary War. Welcoming congregation if you are a visitor or seeking a new church home. Colonial-costumed services on Christmas Eve and at other times.

Cemetery located in the back of the church through the iron gate. Probably the oldest cemetery I have ever visited. Amazing thinking about the history and people that are buried there. There are brochures in the cemetery that list some of the people buried there. Many patriots of the Revolutionary War, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution. 300 people are buried in the graveyard but many of the headstones are long gone.

As part of the Historical Walking Tour of Old Town Alexandria you will enter the cemetary from the west. The Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier in on the north wall and is well marked as you stand by it.
