Feeling cold at the airport, I bought an Alpaca scarf from Pen & Prose. It says 100% handmade Alpaca. I was suspicious at first because it didn't feel like wool in terms of the hand sensation when touching it. When I showed it to a couple of my seat mates on the air plane. They lightly touched the scarf and inspected the seams on all ends. Well, not only it's not handmade, the material used mostly Acrylic, not wool. The only real piece of wool is the tiny piece of thread hanging on the label to say 100% Alpalca. So the scarf itself is a Fake.

This is a wonderful little gift shop that I always visit when I depart from Reagan National. Yes it is small; but it is filled with good, high-quality items that I can always find something special for friends as I return home.
So many wonderful gift ideas are on display here. There is very friendly staff who are happy to let you browse, or are there to help you if you have a question. This time, I found some lovely stationary for myself, as well as for a friend.

I have been denied from traveling back to US where I have lost both my parents. I don’t have a job and now I am struggling for survival. I promise in the name of Almighty that I am going to put an end to my life, and my suicidal note will have her name on it. My work visa has been cancelled and now there is pop up in US Immigration with my name in the system, stating simple Assault. Dear Madam,
I am forwarding you my case history in connection with the unfortunate incident at the pen and prose boutique at Washington DC National Reagan Airport with the sales person , Ms. Kiara Goldsmith for which I lost my job and today I am out of USA Where I had worked for more than 17 years and now I have come back to India , struggling without a job.
After hiring an Attorney, Mr. Bill Hicks, I visited the Washington National Airport police station (MWAA), along with him and met detective A. Viernes as instructed in the warrant letter which I received by mail. He was nice and cordial, and we came back along with the document, which he handed over to my Attorney,Mr. Hicks.
The incident took place on June 16, 2017, and the complaint was made on August 10 2017 after almost 2 months,The incident took place during the day time (office hours), with other sales persons present at the store, and there are several other stores across/ next to the pen store, several passengers who are travelling.
If the matter was that serious, other sales person could have intervened, and the police station is only 10 feet away from the pen store, near the check point for Delta Airlines. The letter from MWAA was mailed out to my Residence on August 21, 2017, and US Department of State had sent the note Verbal to the Embassy on August 24, 2017.
The sales person, Ms. Kiara Goldsmith realized the matter only after 2 months, and the police complaint was filed and it is nothing but after thought, especially with the police station only 10 feet away from the pen store. The sales person took all my personal information, and even asked for my state ID, which has my Residence Address. She said, it is mandatory to see the I'D, if the payment method is by credit card.
But my office (Indian Embassy) was really getting worried, especially after receiving the Note verbal from the US Department of State, on basis of the complaint received from MWAA. (Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority)
I was issued several memorandums by the office, show cause notices and finally termination letter.
I decided to leave US on September 1, 2017 early in the morning. It is practically impossible for me to manage with my finances to fight a case in the Law Court in US and pay fees to the Lawyer which is @ $ 500.00 per hour with my petty salary, and I am also out of US now and I don't have a job either, and there is also a pop up against my name at US Immigration.
I request you to kindly investigate the matter. This is nothing but serious misunderstanding, but I would certainly like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. I never really expected that I have to go through all this after more than 17 years of service in the United States.
I am also attaching the copy of my termination letter from the Embassy / Email from my Attorney Mr. Bill Hicks / Copy of the Actual Police Complaint./ other important documents.
I am a pen lover , and this is known to all my friends, colleagues and family members.
I keep purchasing pens on regular basis, as it is my passion, and my dad also had this passion. Unfortunately my parents are no more . I am all alone, no brothers and sisters, and this is my only passion.
I had not only purchased pens in the past from DCA, but also from the pen shop at IAD and BWI international Aiports, and they are located beyond the security check point. I used to buy pens from Fountain pen hospital , when I used to live in NY, and in India I used to buy from William pen store.
On the 16th of June at DCA, the pen which I purchased initially was a gold plated pen, but after I left the store, I realized the holder was not there, so I again went back to replace it with a Monte verde green color fountain pen. I was extremely happy as usual being a pen lover and the sales person who helped me was also nice and helpful, and I did give her a hug before leaving. I did not have any bad intentions, it was nothing but out of excitement, that i brought a new pen, and we Indians always pamper and encourage youngsters. The sales person, Ms. Kiara Goldsmith was much younger than me, which I even mentioned to her, and we Indians are always affectionate towards youngsters, and she also helped me in buying the lovely green fountain pen. She even asked me about my job, and I did mention that I work in the Indian Embassy, and I travel to the Airports very often, being in Protocol to handle VIP movements. I purchased pens from DCA in the past well, but some other sales person assisted me, and they are all nice and helpful .I have always made the payment by credit card.
Surprisingly the police complaint was made against me in the month of August as stated in the Actual police complaint attached, two months later after I visited the store. (Misdemeanor 1 category)
Madam, Please do assist me in at least removing the popup against my name in US Immigration, so that I can return back to US again where I have lost both my parents.

I have always been a pen lover right from my days in school. I used to keep purchasing pens on regular basis, and I purchased several pens from your boutique as well and I never had any issues. But the day I purchased the pen from Ms. kiara Goldsmith, she was trying to take all my personal details, and even wanted to see my State ID as I was paying by Credit card as per norms of the store she said. Then after 2 months a letter came to my office through State Department, stating that my behaviour at the store was not proper which is so incorrect. I got terminated, and my work visa got canceled and I had to leave the country after almost 18 years of service. I have had several correspondences with MWAA in DCA but there is a limit to one’s tolerance. If the matter is not settled by this weekend, I promise in the name of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary that I am going to make this an International issue, and make sure that Pen and Prose Boutique gets bankrupt, and the store will get permanently locked up. You have no right to spoil someone’s life in this fashion and ruin my family as well. Amen.
