This is a truly lovely and upbeat area. Shops, restaurants, movies, library. And did I say really good restaurants. All nice and walkable.

I recently visited Shirlington for the first time and absolutely loved it. It’s really walkable and definitely pedestrian centric. There are a lot of different restaurants as well as a movie theater and library. A very cute area with some nice shops.

The Village at Shirlington has dozens of good restaurants and stores to visit during a calming stroll. Watch out for the cars that drive too fast for this pedestrian neighborhood! First visit to Best Buns; delicious!

Festive walking neighborhood with a wide variety of choices of restaurants. It's also home to the award winning Signature Theatre. Shirlington, now updated and trendy, was one of the first "shopping centers" in the Northern Virginia region.

Shirlington Village is perfectly situated at the borders of historic Alexandria and Arlington Virginia, with Washington DC just a few miles away. This very tiny but quaint village has over 20 excellent dining establishments along with a national supermarket, AMC movie theater, apartments, library, hair salon & free underground parking!

At one end is a popular brew pub, and the other end is Signature Theatre, a big favorite for local lovers of plays and musicals. In between are many fine and varied restaurants, including The Carlyle, Guapo's, etc. It can be busy on the weekends. Great for people watching, along with their dogs.

This little village area has everything in walking distance. So fun for a one night trip. Bars. A grocery store. Massage. Shopping. And restaurants. Plus a stage theater and a movie theatre.

Shirlington Village has a lot going for it. The Signature Theater is highly acclaimed with excellent performances! The director for many of the plays and musicals a Tony winner with The Million Dollar Quartet. There are also at least 10 restaurants in a one block area including two very good ones: Carlyle Steakhouse and Samuel Beckett's
Tavern. There is a decent county library here as well. The silver lining is the abundance of free parking in at least four parking lots. There is paid parking on the street but we never have to use these spots because we always find a spot without much effort.

We road our bikes from Ballston to have lunch in Shirlington. Nice easy bike ride. The village is very dog friendly, water bowls with ice at all restaurants👍
