Free museum, and decently accessible via public transportation -- take the #51 bus from Hamamatsu train station, some of the buses actually stop right at the museum but others have a short walk from a different bus stop.
The main building doesn't take a lot of time to go through if you don't stop and watch the videos. They have a couple full size aircraft and a movie theater (which unfortunately was closed the day I went). On the top floor they have models of every aircraft the JASDF has used going back to their founding in the 50s.
From the top floor you can walk over to the hanger which has lots of full size aircraft from different eras, some of which you can even sit in and take pictures. They also have their simulators in this building, but if you want to do that make sure you get there when they open. I got there in the morning, and all of the slots were already filled for that day.
There’s a little gift shop where you enter, but it can get very full so it’s probably worth going there earlier in the day.

It is a public relations facility for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and entry and parking are free due to its purpose. In addition to the interesting displays of aircraft from biplanes to F2s, the interactive displays, such as videos and simulators, can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders.

This facility is adjacent to the Hamamatsu Air Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and admission and parking are free.
It consists of three areas: the "Exhibition Museum" where you can see various materials such as the missions of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, aircraft models and mechanisms, the "All-sky Theater" where you can enjoy impressive images in a dome-shaped theater, and the "Exhibition Hangar" where you can see real fighter planes from past generations and the Blue Impulse. In the experience corner, there are plenty of fun things to do, such as a VR experience of the Blue Impulse, a flight simulator, and a cockpit seat experience.
There is also an outdoor exhibition of large aircraft, and on the runway of the adjacent base, you can watch the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's flight training up close only on weekdays, so there is plenty to enjoy.

航空自衛隊浜松基地に併設する広報施設。歴代の様々な航空自衛隊の飛行機を見ることができます。フライトスーツの貸し出しを行っており、フライトスーツを着てコクピットに入り写真を撮っている人もいました。ショップには面白い自衛隊のグッズやお土産が売っています。海外の方が多いのに驚きました。

子供を連れての来訪。歴代のブルーインパルスの機体が見れたのが、子供的には満足したよう。個人的にはF104が見れたのがうれしかった。シアター上映も圧巻で見る価値あり。

スカイラウンジで休憩しながら、前の滑走路を飛ぶ練習機も見えます。また展示では歴代のブルーインパルスや零式艦上戦闘機52型甲まで見れます。
フライトシミュレーターや、全天周シアター、ブルーインパルスコーナーでは、ＶＲゴーグルを通して、ドルフィンライダー気分が味わえます。

浜松市の観光で初めて来館しました。館内は無料で見学でき、品揃え豊富なショップやカフェもあります。見学の所要時間は屋内展示が約1時間、屋外展示とショップの買い物で約15分でした。展示資料館では戦闘機の展示だけでなく、武器や搭乗員の装備についての展示があり大変勉強になりました。そして機体内部の機械やエンジンの構造が見れるようになっているのも良かったなと思います。展示格納庫では沢山の戦闘機や救難ヘリ、エンジンが展示されていて大変見応えありました。救難ヘリの内部を見たのは初めてですが、どこか既視感のある内装でした。
中でも特に印象に残った展示は、ブルーインパルスの編隊飛行を体験できるVRコーナーです。浜松市内や浜名湖の上空を飛行し、パイロット視点で迫力ある映像を360度で楽しめます。スモークを噴射しながら飛ぶ機体を間近で見られて、とても感動でした☆予想以上に左右に傾きながら飛行する映像でしたが、酔わなくて良かったなと思います。フライト・シミュレーターは待ち時間1時間30分ということで断念しましたが、このVRコーナーは10分ほどの待ち時間で利用できましたので、手軽に飛行体験ができて良かったなと思います。

いろいろな体験もできて大人もたのしく見学できる。となりの滑走路の離着陸も見られる。施設設備はやや古い。
