Wajiyama Park is a huge park located between the University and a public library. It is mainly used for the sports events because the flat area originally used for the training grounds for the Japanese Imperial Army before the second world war turned into baseball and multi-purpose fields since the park opened in 1969. 920-meter walking and jogging course encircle the athletic fields. At the northwestern corner of the park there is a swimming pool for children during summer and it is free-of-charge. There is a nice higher grounds used for children's playground. The area is also a good place to view cherry blossoms. In contrast to the flat area used for the walking course, this area at the edge of the river terrace top has some bumps and dents. There is a steep slope called Deaizaka leading to the terrace top plaza.
It is a good place for a walk after visiting the nearby university or a library.

和地山公園ですがかつては、こちらの和地山公園で浜松まつり（たこあげ）が開催されていたと言われています。そんな訳で大きな敷地の公園です。
公園内には、野球、サッカーなどのグランドもあります。住宅街にあるのですが。とにかく広いです。ウォーキングコースもあるのでたのしめますよ！
公園の横には、城北図書館もあります。
駐車場もあるので車でもOKです。
