Very fun experience with Aventura Grande.
We did the half day tour and had fun from the moment the tour guides (a bunch of hippie dudes from Colorado) picked us up from our hostel El Retiro, in a loaded truck with Creedence Clearwater blasting!
The guides made us feel super safe and confident in the water, so we didn't have to worry and could enjoy the entire trip.
We met some really awesome people that day, and was great also getting to know the guides and hear their own stories.
The food at the end was delicious too!

We discovered this adventure when staying at the Zephyr Hostel in Lanquin. We went on the half day rafting trip which gave us 2 hours of fun in the sun on the river as well as a delicious lunch included at the end of the trip. We had an amazing time on the river and had some time tto relax, drink beers, and swim before we hit the big rapids before lunch. Our guides were fun and professional and made us feel safe on the river. I would recommend this trip, especially the full day trip when it is offered, to any Guatemalan traveler. You don't need any prior experience and the trip is a perfect balance of relaxing in the sun and adrenaline pumping rapids.
