On nous avait dit qu’en deux trois heures nous pouvions faire le grand tour ! En fait le plan donné à l’entree est très succinct . Au bout d’une heure trente nous n’avi Pas encore rencontré la bifurcation pour la petite boucle .
Le gardien nous avait bien alerté sur le fait de s’enduire de repélant. Si vous souhaitez faire le grand tour et apprécier la flore et la faune doublez le temps et évider d’y être entre midi et deux

Ci sono diversi orari in cui visitare il biotipo di Monterrico in barca. Sicuramente quello che ho trovato più suggestivo e vedere l'alba dalla laguna con gli uccelli che iniziano a volare e intensificano il loro canto.
Un'esperienza per comprendere la bellezza della natura di questo luogo, tra vegetazione e animali (interessanti anche i termitai presenti tra le mangrovia).
Di interesse e fascino è anche vedere come i pescatori vivano questo ambiente in cui abitano, con le famiglie e che da loro di che vivere.

Monterrico is amazing. But this morning I got attacked by a dog on the beach while I was walking along the beach. I didn't see the dog at first but he came out of nowhere and bit my bum from behind surrounded by other dogs. I got super scared and screamed. The dogs eventually ran away again. I went to the farmacy and they gave me a shot against rabies and after a few weeks I'll take two more shots. Afterward I searched more information about it and I red that I also need an emergency shot called immunoglubin. So tomorrow I heading to Antigua hospital in search for that shot. Has someone been in the similar situation and might have some advice? Thanks

Es encantador, puedes tomar las lanchas en la playa pública, el recorrido que realizar observando los manglares es muy atractivo. Las personas son muy amables y te orientan para que saques el mejor provecho de tu viaje.
Es recomendable llevar bloqueador solar y repelente de mosquitos. El sol es muy fuerte en esa zona

Beste Zeit um loszufahren ist morgens um 6 Uhr, dann geht es ohne Motor durch die Mangroven, viele Vögel zu sehen, tolles Naturschauspiel wenn dann die Sonne aufgeht.

Lugar fantástico, este tour es muy recomendable, verán muchas aves migratorias y otros animales, y el guía explicará más sobre la historia y la vegetación y la fauna local.

Départ à 5h du matin en barque sans moteur pour assister au lever du soleil et au réveil de la faune de la mangrove . Un moment magique de calme et de paix . On écoute le bruit des animaux ,on observe les oiseaux ,les animaux , les nids géants de termites dans les arbres , les nénuphars ...

Go at sunrise for this incredible tour. It was beautiful, with lots of wildlife and the most beautiful sunrise colors. My guide showed me the volcanoes in the distance, animals, plants, and a small Mayan village. Can't recommend this enough!

I went to Monterrico myself and got the answer! The boat tour that usually is sold from any hotel in the area is Q70 and up, depending on time and number of passengers and how good you are at negotiating. The boat tour goes into the reserve but is not actually run by the reserve.
The ACTUAL reserve has a visitor's center but we did not visit it. I believe the entrance fee is Q40 for tourists and less for nationals. As far as I could understand (my Spanish is bad) there aren't any walking trails at the reserve, so your best choice is still to take the boats!
