Our experience with West End Divers from beginning to end was beyond phenomenal. We arrived via a cruise ship so there are always concerns about using a service not affiliated with the cruise ship but we had zero issues. From the very beginning with correspondence with Courtney to the very end with sea life identification with GiGi.
I can't say enough good things. Our transportation was right where we were told they would be waiting for us. Our driver was friendly and had no issues maneuvering the chaos of Roatan traffic. If your faint of heart take courage, they live this life and know how to expertly drive the roads.
Once we arrived, Courtney got us checked in and situated while we waited for our instructor. Very cute dive shop with clean restrooms and changing rooms available if needed. Restaurants and shops nearby for easy access to grab a bite to eat after. Prior to beginning our actual training we watched an informative video to get a good once over before more in depth hands on training.
Our instructor Gigi is absolutely amazing and my hero. He is beyond patient, very knowledgeable and kind. I was very nervous and he took things very slow until I felt comfortable. I had difficulty with my ears equalizing while diving and he continued to work with me to enable me to continue my dive. He never gave up on me even though I was ready to give up on myself. I did not need to resurface at all and managed to get down to a depth of 40 feet and stayed down for almost an hour 😁. After the dive he took the time to do sea life identification with us so we would know the names of the animals we saw while under.
Courtney arranged for our return transportation to allow for enough time to change and grab a bite to eat nearby. We returned to the terminal with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommend West End Divers!!

Outstanding experience on 2/16/23. We stayed at a resort on the other side of the island and unfortunately due to the high winds our dives on that side of the island were cancelled. We stopped by West End while exploring the village and Alex was so friendly and invited us to join them the following day for 2 dives.
When arriving at the shop on the 16th, Courtney was an absolute gem and one of the friendliest people we have ever encountered. Immediately jumping into action to get us set up with all of our gear and show us around. Our dive instructors Ken and Peter were fantastic. We went to two wonderful reefs and had an amazing experience. They are all professional and fun. We are already planning our next trip back to Roatan to do it all again. Cannot praise them enough for saving our vacation as all we wanted to do was dive.

Great two tank dive with divemaster G (Gerardo) while on a cruise stopover He was great to point out some great life and sights while also keeping great track of myself and two other divers on the dive for our safety. Also great crew of folks at the shop. Set up the dives via email with Courtney who was also onsite and made sure all was ready to go. Thanks!

I was certified with West End divers almost ten years ago. Since then I have been diving around the world and there is really no shop like WED!! WED is a first class establishment. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about diving and Roatan in general. Whether you are a seasoned diver or interested in a Discovery dive, this is a great shop for your diving needs.

We felt so blessed to be able to dive while in port on our recent cruise. From the taxi driver, Miguel, to our divemaster, Jazzer, everyone was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thank you, West End, for a great day of diving and making memories!

Had an incredible experience at West End Divers. Courtney was fantastic at trying to organise not one but TWO black water dives in the space of 2 weeks for my friends and I. A dive that makes you feel like you are in space and nothing that I've experienced before. A massive thank you to her Instructors Bee and Madison for taking us on the dives. Also the dive to Texas with Bee was incredible, as although I had dove at that site many times I hadn't done it the way she led it.

We had a blast diving with West End Divers!
We had already dived with a couple of shops on the island, but West End caught our eye because they advertised a black water dive. We signed up and it was hands down the most unique dive I've ever done! We loved seeing all the jellies and invertebrates on their migration back down to the depths.
Our experience convinced us to continue diving with WED and they made the rest of our vacation fantastic. We did literally every dive we could before our plane left. Alex and Regs (not sure about the spelling) were both very knowledgeable and pointed out all kinds of sea creatures (including practically microscopic sea spiders). They accommodated us while we hunted lion fish too.
Courtney always greeted us with enthusiasm and helped us out with equipment, while John (the owner) kindly answered all of our questions.
Overall, the whole WED crew made us feel like more than customers: they made us feel like part of a community.
We will definitely be diving with WED when we go back (which will hopefully be as soon as possible).

I had a fantastic weeks diving. The whole team are lovely and go out of their way to give you the best, safest and fun experience possible. I'm a nervous diver and Stuart could not have been more patient and kind with me. Special mention to Courtney too who lent me her mask!

Really friendly staff, arranged for me to join a dive trip where I could solo snorkel. I wanted to get out to the reef but didn’t want to join an all-day snorkel trip so this was perfect.
They provided fins and a safety beacon (had my own mask). Once out in the water Alex showed me where to go and I had a great snorkel for 45 min! Super friendly team and appreciated their flexibility in letting me join.

We are a group of 8 traveling from a cruise ship, some of us are a little nervous snorkeling in open water.Can we book threw you and opt to stay on beach if we want?

West End Diving shop is primarily a dive shop. However, w/ a group of 8 you might get them to take you snorkeling. Best if you get out over the coral to see sea life w/ a boat.
My husband and I will be there on Nov 11th with Royal Caribbean and would like to dive with you can you send me a info.

Greetings! I'm making my first trip to Roatan in April, on a cruise ship. A diver friend recommended your shop to me for snorkeling, but after looking at your website it looks like all diving tours. I'm trying to decide if I should just book a tour with the cruise, or can we find good snorkeling and beach without?

You need to be certified to dive with West End Divers or any other dive shop in Roatan! All of the dive shops take this very seriously and they will lose their our certification if they don't follow the strict Padi rules. They do have a discover scuba diving course that allows you to try diving off the dock but I don't know if they take you out to the reef at all.
