Earlier in old city of Junagadh and now moved to other place the Junagadh Musey is poorly managed. Very few exhibits. Staff is busy in watching videos in mobile and playing mobile games. It's closed on all public holidays and 2nd and 4th Saturday. It's open on Sundays. At ticket counter took rupees but didn't gave ticket, May be a way of corruption. Tourism and archeological department are responsible for such condition.

There is nothing extraordinary in this museum. Quite the same that one comes across in most of Indian museums. Moreover, many of the descriptions are in Gujarati and not English. One can expect just the normal sections like silver, armory, palanquins, paintings, textile, brass and porcelain wares, etc. There could have been more information on the rulers of Junagadh, their family tree, history, etc. The museum that way is not at all informative. There is ample scope of improvement.

The Darbar Hall Museum is housed in the building where the Nawabs of Junagadh held court and assemblies. The building is a riot of pink coloured walls, domes and parapets. The entrance fee is small and there’s the usual 10x entrance fee for foreigners compared to the locals. It’s also extra to take photos in the museum, twice the price entrance fee!

The main rooms are Silver Room, Weapons Room, Glass & Pottery Room, Coins Room, Wood Furnishings Room, Howdah & Palanquin Room and Nawab Portraiture Room.

There very little English description except in the coins room, glass room and portraiture rooms. The building is nice, but in need of TLC. The items are good quality, but the room is little more than a few items thrown together. Other than that, the museum does have some beautiful glass chandeliers that once belonged to the Nawabs.

The entry price is little more than pocket change and it's nothing more than a 20 sideline of you have time. Don't bother unless you have lots of it in Junagadh.

This is an amazing palace with fine collection of artefacts belonging to the one time Mughal emperor. Its a must visit, please forgive the upkeep of the place. I wish it was done better, but nevertheless, if more people visit, i hope some day it will be fruitful.

The Durbar Hall is a large hall for the Nawab's court and public meetings which was also known as Kacheri Hall.

Here, there is a clutter of silver-covered furniture, European glass lamps and chandeliers, mirrors and a glass tree, with a woollen rug made by prisoners in Junagadh jail.

Everything is dusty, and the decor is crumbling there and in the corridors, are gifts and letters that were given to the Nawabs by their visitors.

Also a splendid ambari, or elephant saddle for the Nawab, elephant driver and bearer during processions.

There are displays of textiles and of arms. Further developments are planned, but much work is required on the fabric of the building and displays to bring it up to the standards.

The surroundings of the attraction also needs a lot of uplifting. Currently it seems very very shabby.

This is undoubtedly a must visit place, though not very popular among visitors. It Is very well organized museum where lots of antique verities of jewelleries, furniture, utensils, armories etc is very well preserved.
