Sanctum sanatorium of Valmiki is very well built. The temple is very clean and well maintained. This is where Lava and Khush, sons of Lord Rama were born. Walk all round the main temple.

Sri Ram Tirath Temple is a beautiful campus spread over acres of land. The main temple area is surrounded by a sacred pond and the center hall is so good for those who intend to sit and meditate .... The Luv-Kush temple is though being built right now

Beautiful experience visiting in the late evening.
Valmiki temple, Luv Kush caught ShriRam's horse here.
Also, Sita Mata's meditation place was worth visiting.
The lake surrounding the temple was mesmerising.

Beautiful place. Calm & quite. Big premisses. Only negative thing is you will find few women inside who will be after you for some teeka and they will follow you for quite some time.

A large, beautiful and serene temple - the vast area is simply fabulous. However, some of the structures ( and touts) detract from the overall beauty of the complex. Definitely a must visit- dont know why it is not so popular.

It is siad to be Ashram of Maharishi Valmiki and it is said to be birth place of Sons of Lord Rama viz Luv and Kush. Nicely maintained, this temple is also surrounded by water.

The temple is about 15 km from Amritsar City. The road is good & there is adequate parking in the vicinity of the temple from where one can walk down. Shoes/ Slippers can be stored at just outside the temple main gate on the left side. The main temple of the great sage "Valmiki" who had written the " Ramayan". There are a lot of small temples around the main temple once you walk around the lake. The place is fairly maintained and clean. It is belived that Sita gave birth to Luv & Kush at the very location. A gateway to ancient mythology and history....must visit.

Very interesting place to visit if you are looking for information on Ramayan. The facility although recently renovated is poorly maintained.

I agree with some previous reviewers that this place can be better managed.
We visited here on the way back from Wagah Border to Amritsar by taking a detour of 3-4 kms.
While this place is supposed to be associated with the birth of Luv & Kush , sons of Lord Rama, we did not find any signposts to guide visitors. There are some other temples in this area but all the stories they tell you about may not be correct.
We didn't spend much time here.

What are the timings to visit.
It seems as per my itinerary I will reach around 2pm. Will it be closed that time like other Hindu temples.
Generally temple are closed between 11am to 4pm hence doubtful.

This temple is open at all times. We also visited in the afternoon. You will need to spend about an hour walking around the temple grounds.

the road was quite okay. it took us less than one hour to reach .we had a full day taxi so cannot help you about taxi fare .

Can we visit the temple from Amrisar by bus? Or it would be better by Car or e rikshow/ tuktuk? What about the private car fare from Amritsar? What is the exact opening and close time?

We travelled from Amritsar 3 persons in a Autoriksha which charged us Rs.650. Taxis are also available and I was told that the price would be around Rs.1000. Tourist buses are there who take you around the city for full day or may be half day. The temple is open from morning till late evening.
