Very nice place. Cool and fresh water and greenary every where. Good place to visit weekends crowded but normal days good to spend some time.

The hidden waterfall is a little hard to locate, but it is worth the effort. Follow the signboards and food stalls to find it. You may not be able to locate it otherwise. It is surrounded by lush greenery and is a very photogenic waterfall. You will have to walk in water to reach near the fall, so wear a good water shoe. The water is cold, so take care of the little ones. There are stalls for food and drinks near the waterfall. Be prepared to get wet. Choose your time wisely to avoid the crowds.

Its a long drive to them. Enroute one gets to see few more. At least four during rains. Good spend of time. Half hour drive and half hour there.

While Vattakanal Falls is quite a touristy spot and a good falls in Kodaikanal, Lions Cave is a hidden gem which very few people choose to visit. There is a small trail which goes alongside the Vattanakal Waterfalls to Lions Cave. You will witness multiple falls along the way.

There is nothing special about this falls. It probably might look good during the rains but during other months, the water flow isn't much and the area below the falls is quite dirty. One look and you would definitely avoid stepping into the water. We also saw some people doing their daily chores in the water upstream. The access is not easy for elders or persons with physical disabilities. Better to avoid.

A small water fall where we can stay and play around in water to feel the nature in person.Great place to go with friends and family.

Serene waterfall amidst forest.. Just 15 mins drive from the 7 Roads junction.. It is on the way to Dolphin Nose view point.. After deviating from the Golf Links Road towards Dolphin Nose, travel for about 1km, and then you can ask the localites or the taxi drivers for the exact location to get down to the waterfall.. It involves steep downhill trek from the road for about 10 mins.. You can get into the water and take lovely pics.. Water level is just about knee length, so there is no possibility of swimming.. There is no changing room as well.. There are 3-4 falls in the same stream within 10 minutes of trek.. You can trek down the stream to see all of them, however, the rocks are quite slippery.. It's an amazing place for people who enjoy the nature and love to take photos.. It's worth the time and effort for visiting this beautiful waterfall..

Yes you can stop your vehicle near by and notice the waterfall if you don't like to walk down. But for best view it is recommended to walk.

I don’t recommend you carrying weed!! Its not safe!! Checkpoint mostly checks nothing but if they check!! Then you re in trouble

Advice against carrying food during vatakanal* but during the dolphin you will find places around the trail to chill and eat but would suggest to eat at Altaf cafe after the hike is over as the view from there is spectacular

The Vattakanal falls does not really require a guide for trekking. When I traveled, the driver of the cab/taxi we had arranged doubled up as the guide as well. He escorted yes during our trek to the Dolphin nose view point and also to all other places that we saw. If you are interested in having a guide for trekking you might want to check with the local tour operators - they might be able to help
