We did a day trip to the fishing village of Kenh Ga. Found the rural village undergoing a transition - huge amount of construction going on. The village people are welcoming and friendly but the area itself has been neglected . The Floating Village is no longer there. Riverways are full of floating plastic trash . There seems to be a huge amount of construction happening, so perhaps there a new plans for the future . Could not find the ‘ hot springs ‘ .

We rode out on a motorbike and there's no longer anything there! BUT... it was a great ride out there and we met some amazing locals who didn't speak a word if English (why should they???). But they were so lovely, helpful and kind to us. And on the ride back we took a different route and saw some cool stuff. So even though the floating village is no longer there, we had a cracking time.

L'arrivée à Ken Gah plutôt angoissante, avec chiens en cage et montagnes de détritus. Dommage, ce n'est pas un village flottant du tout, les enfants nous demandaient de l'argent dans la rue et nous avons fui après un tour dans le village aux maisons bétonnées. Nous n'avons pas fait le tour en barque, ça sentait un peu l'arnaque.

Nous sommes allés à kenh ga pour y arriver nous avons traversé de jolies villages. Arrivés à l embarcadère on nous a demandé de payer 150 000 dong pour traverser le bateau était en très mauvais état vétuste. La personne qui nous a reçu était assez vindicative et cela nous a influencé a repartir sans rien voir. Elle a baissé son prix a 120 000 dong nous étions 7 et cela sentait l arnaque. Nous n avons aucun regret d être reparti après avoir vu le commentaire des autres personnes

What a waste of time and effort. There is no floating village or hot springs. The once floating village has been replaced with a series of concrete islands around the small mountains, connected by cheap nasty looking metal bridges. All the area is under construction. There's not much to see there anymore. The concrete islands are now surrounded by rice fields. There is no longer any boat tours. All very disappointing. The place didn't even warrant me taking any pictures, it's that uninspiring.

We were surprised about the lack of knowledge of the place from the hotel staff or driver, but the information I had read sounded great and... we really wanted hot springs!!! We also got ripped of by a boat operator like in other reviews I wish I had read before going. There's nothing to see. The floating village is gone (couldn't figure out why) or inexistent. The hot springs are closed. What they do show you to justify the money you pay for the motorboat is a little pagoda? with hot spring water, very hot, not a place where you can bathe. There are many beautiful places around Ninh Binh; unless you have a specific interest in this non-floating village, forget it.

there is nothing to see here at the moment and we got ripped off by a boat operator who literally took us 300 yards to see where the hot spring used to be and where the development is starting - we got to feel the hot water though. We thought we had negotiated a half hour tour of the village but insted went straight back. Woulnt advise independent travel here. The village isnt floating - instead its built for flooding
