I had the pleasure of being guided by Mahrokh, the museum guide.
She shared an incredible amount of information about the history of water collection and distribution. At times, I had to ask her to repeat herself because I could hardly believe what I was hearing.
I was amazed by the massive efforts made by the local population thousands of years ago to bring drinkable water to the city.

Yazd Water Museum is located in the former elegant mansion. Here, you can learn about water management system in Yazd and other dry areas of Iran.
I was little disappointed after visit there. Little neglected, place and museum with bug potential but needs improvement.

This museum highlights the relationship of water and the desert city of Yazd. Yazd would not survive without ingenuity and engineering and the inhabitants have always found ways to harness water effectively. It is probably not for everyone, but not a bad museum.

The museum showcases showcases ancient aqueduct construction, featuring tools & technology. Some of the exhibits are underground and hence not really suitable for wheelchair. Worth visiting if time permits.

The museum, owned by the Regional Water Corporation is set in a buildings of the former Kolahdooz Mansion, built in 1888, and a truly beautiful building. There is everything here you need to know about the old water management system of Iran, which is still functioning today. The mansion itself is fed by the 75km long Zarch qanat which was first dug ca 2000 years ago.

Genial!

A very interesting small museum which could solve all the questions you have about water and the management of it in the desert. I think it's important to have somebody to explain you some things in order to understand it better. Also there are some nice photos of the contractions of that amazing system which still work!
