We were fetched from our pensione in the morning and were driven through the Vaser Valley ( a good way to see the countryside) to Vişeu de Sus where we boarded the train. There was no audio-guide in Romanian and English as per the advertisement. We were however handed a map of the area so could follow the route plus an information leaflet about The Carpathian Forest Steam Train. The package includes your train ticket, coffee/tea/hot chocolate and a doughnut at the first stop and lunch at the next stop. The trip through the wooded mountains is beautiful and relaxing. On the way back we stopped at The Museum of the Peasant Woman from Dragomirești. Unfortunately there was no information in English. The guide at the museum who seemed very entertaining only spoke Romanian. I would have liked an English handout.

Note: we did course #2.
This is a great way to get around and see all the different sights of Maramures if you don't have a car. You get picked up in a large van good for a max of 7 people. You get a romanian booklet with photos and information about things to see, as well as Maramureș food and other cultural customs. Not so good if you only speak English.
While in the car, a cd will play while the driver takes you to the next stop, and it gives a brief background into the history of what you will see. The cd is in Romanian and then it repeats in English.
Dont expect any type of guide or information upon arriving at your location, you are on your own. I took off a star only because there seems to be a lack of information especially in English. The details that you hear in the car are forgotten once you get to the place.
But you're still getting a lovely ride around, you get to see a lot of attractions in just one day, and our driver was very nice. Would recommend and would re-take to do the other courses. The price was reasonable as well.

Each time when I had guest in Maramures I had to take them around visiting different places. Now I've tried the services of this tour company and I really think it's best price quality decision.

Hi, if I take the 2days tour in Baia mare after visit the bucovina's monastery will I come back to Baia mare? Is it included in the price? Thank you
