It was a surprisingly enjoyable visit . We have visited in the past Amsterdam , Vienna Zoos so we had quite limited expectations . The animals are well taken care off , it is also child friendly as they can see the animals through the glass surfaces .The minus might be the toilets,other than that we ‘ve spent 3 hours there and have enjoyed it

After visiting the Valencia Bioparc I had aquired high standards for zoo's but Oradea Zoo surprised me in a very good way (unlike the slaugtherhouse from Timisoara city ). Visited on 11 Aug 2023 , 22 lei ticket (4 euros!!) , for the 1.5 year old baby the entrance was free . It was clean , large but not too large , animals looked well and being taken good care of .The Zoo has some interesting policies you can 'sponsor' animals (support $ , feed and take care for an animal for one year ) , you can buy food on site and feed the animals , there is a mausoleum there , interesting souvenir shop , lots of clean toilets , benches and places where you can enjoy a snack , there are some shops with candies and toys and other activities for children , staff is ok . All in all , a good 3-4 hours visit . The large cats are expecially well kept and looked after . Would recommend and revisit .

it was really bad and the animals were dying they had injuries but were left to die, i saw a dead racoon in the tiger enclosure and the tigers were eating it. raccons are my favourite animal and i am so sad now.

I must admit that maybe the space each animal has allocated is not at EU zoo standards, but it’s a beautiful zoological.
They plan on moving it at the periphery of Oradea, so in case you are in the area soon, take the chance of visiting it. I bet you won’t regret it!

The animal's cages are too small for the them and dirty. We couldn't see the animals because of the fences.
Maybe is a good place for families with kids, but not for couples or group of young people.

Visiting the zoo mid-week on a slightly rainy day during a pandemic, no surprises there were only two other people in the entire zoo! The animals seemed bored and lonely understandably, and some, like the ostriches and llamas, followed me alongside the fence for attention. Don’t worry, we had nice chats and left on friendly terms.
Across the street, the Nicolae Bălcescu park was a worthwhile stop, especially if you know the history about the Auschwitz training stopping there. Sad, but we need to acknowledge it and make the world a better place by loving others.

I visited here in September 2019, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My main concerns were the lone Lion (should have a partner), a wolf with a damaged leg which didn't look as though it had been treated.

The Zoo itself was very clean when we visited, the animals were well taken care of. So i hope this answers your question and i hope you will like it to. All the best.

No dogs or any other pets are allowed within the zoo. It is a common aspect in most zoos as it might cause stress to some animals in their enclosures. Oradea Zoo does, however, have a special place to keep dogs while their owners visit our establishment.

For adults it's 12 RON / person and 6 RON for kids, students and pensioners. They also have family deals and kids under 4 years can visit for free. I would say it's a bit far from Hotel Atrium, a 45 minute walk, maybe more if you're with small children. But you can get close by tram, there is a tram station very close to Hotel Atrium where you can take the tram and get close to the Zoo, a 5 minute walk.
