I felt like I got to experience something special going here. I could have spend the day looking at every brick on the wall wondering who built it, who tried to climb up it when invading. I will be back for sure.

Reputo che valga la pena ammirare la città e il mare circostante dalle mura e dalle vedette. In particolare, al tramonto, il mare assume dei colori pastello indimenticabili. Il prezzo d'ingresso è molto contenuto, solo 2 euro.

Small streets, great shops, and don t forget To take a look for citadel inside. The prices at coffee shops this octomber are around 1.20 -1.80 euro per 1 coffee. Most of them not all products from the menu because season is end. But also are a lot of tourists. Deserve the visit

For the fee we paid, the collector-person allowed us to access the wall-walk. Know that when returning, you must double-back on your walk. That is how it is done.
The wall-walk takes visitors past the gardens and residences of the residents, built up and which abut the wall. Little vignettes of local life will play out during the course of the wall-walk.
By way of history, this is a 9th century (so that is the 800's era) Roman Byzantine creation and it was created as a defensive fortress. Currently, it is under the protection of UNESCO and it remains an active seismic zone.
Two earthquakes left their marks: the first was in 1667 and the second in 1979. After the first, Venetians rebuilt it using the original materials. The second earthquake was a tooth-rattler, clocking in at 7 points.
Take the walk. It takes the visitor past some little archer-port towers and may give an idea of how defensive efforts were undertaken.

Plenty of unique and photogenic spots to take photos along the walls. Definitely recommend walking the whole length of the walls.

City Walls give a different perspective to a place with the ability to see right into the heart of a town and really soak up its atmosphere.
Budva City Walls are not too long but the views are great and it's thoroughly recommended.

Vous pensiez peut-être comme moi que le Montenegro était un petit coin perdu au bord de l’Adriatique, avec des gens un peu bourrus mais sommes toutes très sympathiques. Vous pensiez comme moi trouver des petits restaurants typiques , des petits commerces traditionnels , vous pensiez croiser de la vieille Skoda dans des petits coins remplis de charme.
Et bien non , rien de tout ça . Ou comment le tourisme de masse vient foutre en l’air de superbes paysages peut être parmi les plus beaux du pourtour méditerranéen. Oui je sais , c’est l’Adriatique mais vous m’aviez compris 😏
Alors moi j’ai atterri à Budva . La ville du mauvais goût par excellence. Alors certes la vieille ville est plutôt sympathique mais quant au reste c’est un mélange D’Ibiza avec de la saucisse de Francfort dedans. Nos amis Teutons ont réussi à faire de cette charmante ville au demeurant un lieu où se croisent les snacks pizza / kebab/ burger , les bars à bières avec pleins de néons moches dehors , des boutiques de souvenirs made in china . Bref du mauvais goût en barre. Sans oublier la circulation. Parlons en de la circulation. Alors pour le coup , je pense qu’on est sur un nouveau concept . En fait , il y a tellement de monde sur un si petit espace , qu’il n’y a aucune , mais strictement aucune place pour se garer , ce qui fait que tu ne peux te déplacer qu’à pied autour de ton logement. Ne comptes même sur le fait d’aller faire des courses en ville , c’est peine perdue.
Les plages … euh comment dire … en majorité payantes et recouvertes de galets (des beaux galets de 5kg tout de même, mi galet mi parpaing donc n’oubliezpas vos chaussures de trekking pour rejoindre l’eau), elles sont conviviales. Par conviviale , j’entends que l’on devrait peut-être dépêcher des scientifiques pour savoir à combien on peut tenir sur 1 m2.
Malgré tout ça , vous vous dites : oui bon d’accord … mais ça vaut pas cher par là bas…. Ah ah ah je me gausse….
A la supérette en bas de chez moi , ils vendent des bouteilles de champ à 600 balles. Hein quoi ?!?!
Porsche ,Limousine Audi Mercedes , Bmw , voilà en quoi on roule à Budva. Toutes ont les vitres fumées, on se demande bien pourquoi ?!?!?
En fait non , on a vite compris…

Ne vaut pas le détour!! Fuir Budva une station balnéaire sale, bruyante, défigurée par des constructions anarchiques. Horrible.

Pretty nice walk. Pay attention, unlike Dubrovnik where the walk on the walls is circular, here you can walk to a dead end and then go back the way you came. The entry point is on the plateau in front of the Citadel, at the end near the sea. The ticket is 2 euros.

A pesar de que Budva es un balneario y ciudad turística, donde imperan los edificios de apartamentos, el casco histórico (muy pequeño) es muy bello y vale la pena visitarlo.
Las murallas y fortificaciones están bien conservadas y la ciudad vieja es muy atractiva.

How much of the city walls do you actually get to visit for your 2 euro? I couldn't see that there was that much available to walk on. I've been to the Citadel so are the city walls going to give me any other decent views over the old city?

August would be hot and sunny and great beach weather. I’m here in late May and had hoped to swim but it’s very cool this year and people are still wearing long pants and pullovers. I’m guessing, but I think June through September would be the best months here for a beach holiday but try and get an apartment with air conditioning.
