Went here on a day tour. It is almost completely restored. It's much smaller than some if the other fortresses in Serbia, but has beautiful views of the Danube. We're all adults, and we enjoyed climbing all around and walking the tops of the walls. Had clean bathrooms too!

It is well preserved and you can really climb in each tower. There are safety nets. the view over Danube is awesome.

First, let me start by saying, Ram fortress is a place I gladly go often. No matter how many times I have been there, Im always happy to return. So, I have been there more than 10 time, been as solo traveler, been as a couple, with friends and family.

Ram fortress is old Turkish fortress situated on the Danube river, east of Belgrade. Its somewhere around 120 km from Belgrade, looking at most common route. And there we come to first important topic, the ROUTE.

Route: Most common route for visitors coming from Belgrade is taking the high-way, getting of for Pozarevac and than take a road to Veliko Gradiste. If you use Google Maps as your navigation at some point it will lead you, after you pass Pozarevac, via village of Klicevac. *dont use this direction due the bed road conditions. Continue toward Veliko Gradiste, and prior to entering Veliko Gradiste you will have a road sign for Ram Fortress. Use the same route on your return.
For those that want to experience more :) You can go from Belgrade to Banatska Palanka from where you can take a ferry across Danube. Ferry is operated on a regular basis (bad weather, rough rive etc.. can stop ships) by Dunav Trans

Ram fortress is a small fortress but view of Danube is breath taking. Sure it personal opinion But I think you will like it also. Fortress itself was adapted with support of Turkish TIKA agency. What can also be interesting in Ram is if you visit it in the afternoon, with enough time to wait for Sun going down. Fortress has several level which are not accesible by elevator etc. but only steps. But persons with disabilites can visit lower level.

Danube is not widest in this area, but its pritty wide :) Fortress, by my opinion is good location to visit, mostly because of its position in relation to Danube river. People that work on site will offer you possibility of tour, as well as materials about fortress and local attractions.

We came here with our apartment host from A2 apartment (you can find him on booking.com). He decided to take us here and be our tour guide at no charge. It was an incredible day. We got to see this beautiful fortress almost privately, pick fruits at his beautiful farm and see the town veliko gradiste. We wouldnt have made it here if it wasnt for him.

Die Festung ist wunderschön gelegen, an der Donau, die besonders am Nachmittag silbern glitzert. Sie wurde neu renoviert, man kann auf die Mauern und hat einen wunderbaren Ausblick über die Landschaft. Es ist ein ruhiger Ort. In einem kleinen Museum kann man Gegenstände von der Römerzeit bis ins 19. Jahrhundert sehen. Daneben sind auch die Reste einer Karawanserei. In der Nähe ist ein Café und 2 kleine REstaurants.

Πολύ καλά διατηρημένο κάστρο (έχει γίνει πρόσφατη ανακατασκευή). Είσοδο 300rsd. Ωραια θεα δίπλα στην θάλασσα. Έχει πρόσβαση από την θάλασσα με σκαλοπάτια και από πίσω με όχημα

The road to the Ram fortress is not so good especially when you exit the highway you will need a lot of time to come. No supermarkets nearby so have that in mind.
Parking is free, but on pebble so be careful to not dig yourself in.
Ticket price is 2.5 EUR (3 USD or 300 RSD)per person, and you will need about 30-45 min inside.
Fortress is renovated a few years ago and it is very nice to visit, but it is extremely windy all the time!
So if you don't mind the wind you should come and visit.

Beautiful views, well renovated 😃
Tip: no nearby cafes, so bring water if you’re planning on a longer stay (though you really need up to 30 minutes here, so it’s all good)

Tvrđava Ram lepo sređena i renovirana.Iako nije baš usput svakako je vredno posetiti.Na prvi pogled može da deluje da nije nešto velika,međutim ima da se šeta i obilazi unutar tvrđave sasvim dovoljno.Po meni bolja za posetu od Golubačke tvrđave.Jedina mana je parking koji nije dovoljno velik i nije asvaltiran već posut kamenjem.Tako da to može da bude mali problem pa ako dođete kad je gužva morate se malo dalje parkirati.Sve ostalo je ok.
