Sehr gute Lage, neben Busbahnhof und nahe Bahnhof. Die Beratung durch Herrn Silva war sehr professionell und ausführlich. Frau Dinusha unterstütze uns hervorragend. Das Büro ist sehr ansprechend und gemütlich. Eine äußerst positive Erfahrungen. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Gleich neben der Busstation und nahe am Bahnhof

Wir dürften nicht die einzigen gewesen sein, die gleich nach unserer Ankunft in Sri Lanka und zugleich in Kandy als Landes-Neulinge erst mal im TIC eingeschlagen sind. Nun ist es so, dass unsere gemeinsamen Reisen üblicherweise von mir zuhause geplant werden, während die Sri Lanka-Idee von meiner Frau stammte und ich dieses Mal keine Lust auf die Detail-Organisation hatte. Und als eingefleischter „Alles-selber-Macher“, aber zugleich Skeptiker, wollte ich zumindest auf Nummer sicher gehen und im CIT vorbeischauen, was üblicherweise überhaupt nicht meins gewesen wäre.

Aber siehe da: die Beratung war nicht nur vortrefflich sondern auch insofern vorbildlich, als schon einige wenige Reservierungen vorab geklärt werden konnten. Als sehr hilfreich erwies sich für uns Alleinreisende mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln auch, dass man uns ziemlich genau darüber aufklären konnte wie lange eine Fahrt von hier nach da wäre und wo wir unsere doch recht speziellen Interessen am besten befriedigen könnten. Selbst über den fernen Insel-Norden konnte man uns gut informieren.

Als ganz praktisch erweist es sich, dass sich das TIC gleich neben dem Busbahnhof und nahe am Zugbahnhof befindet. Und recht amüsant fand ich die Tatsache, dass der Fußgängertunnel gleich nebenan mit Figuren bemalt war – als ausgesprochener streetart-Fan sprach mich das sogleich an. Mehr an streetart blieb dann in der Folgezeit allerdings au

Great source of information and helpful people

I dopped by for a quick info on directions and met the Tourist Information Officer, Dinusha. She was super helpful in planning my trip to Sigirya for a day trip. She worked well beyond her office hours and ensured everything was ready for me. My driver was Manjula who was amazing. He organized the drive so we would have enough time to see other site on the way back to Kandy.

My original plan was to take the bus from Kandy to Ella, but after speaking with both Dinusha and Manju separately, I decided to go by private car. As the trains from Kandy to Ella weren't operation due to a landslide I was disappointed I would miss out on one of the hightlight of Sri Lanka.. Manju took a route had amazing vistas and wild spices growing on the side of the road. The took us through a vallley, and multiple tea plantations. Saw some cool waterfalls.and dined like a local on roadside places.

Great driver

It was very easy to travel from Kandy to Ella and even to Tangalle. The driver Buddhika was very helpful and very professional! I envoyed this trip.

Good information and nice and competent staff

The staff at Kandy Tourist Information Center were both helpful and competent.
We were especially well taken care of by Manju, who safely brought us to our quite remote hotels (2 occasions) and also for a longer trip. His knowledge and guiding made the trip very special.

Perfect Family Time

Dear Rodney,
we came to your attention through Tripadvisor. Actually we (Frank, Silvia, Lasse 5 years and Mats 2 years) wanted to travel from Kandy directly down south to make a safari and have a relaxed beach holiday.
But since your suggestion "to experience the real Sri Lanka" sounded so exciting and eventful, we changed our planning.
We discussed everything with you and the next day our 8-day-trip started with you.
On our tour you told us about your country, its history, culture and you showed and explained us a lot on the way. Our children had a lot of fun with you! This made our trip easier and more enjoyable. You planned the tour according to the needs of our children, so that we all have enough time to relax and enjoy every day. So you had to slow us down from time to time ;)
We thank you for the super beautiful adventure tour and that you bring us closer to your country, the culture and the people. You are a great person wholove and live for your country. Nice to have met you and we wish you all the best.
If you have the opportunity to travel with Rodney, do it! He is a special guide and he will make your trip an unforgettable experience

Excellent and honest information not just about Kandy but about all of Sri Lanka. Many thanks we were very happy about the extensive information we received. Highly recommended place to get lots of information, this place is the best one we visited for information in Sri Lanka by far. I have high respect for the people working there, they take the time you will not leave unsatisfied.

Sri lanka South tour

Rodney Perera est un homme très gentil, à l'écoute de nos désirs d'européens (besoin nutritifs, désirs de visites, etc), il a su nous montrer l'authenticité qui est restée dans ce pays qu'est le Sri lanka, ma femme et moi sommes ravis de sa prestation.. Il parle beaucoup, mais à une grande connaissance de son pays qu'il adore en plus de cela.. Notre trip n'est toujours pas terminé, mais vu les endroits du pays qu'il nous a montré et que l'on aurait pas pu voir seuls, en train ou en bus.. Nous en sommes ravis et sommes content d'avoir visité les endroits dépourvus de touristes qui sont restés authentiques.. Merci pour ce trip
