Visited earlier this year with a bunch of friends. Was a good visit except the fact that it gets crowded on weekends but overall good

Although the entry is free but it is better to book online. If online booking is not done, then one has to get out of the queue, register and then enter
Although there are slots starting from 10 AM but the timing is not strictly adhered to at the entry.
There is free parking on North Avenue road. One has to walk for half a kilometre to join the queue which is very long even during the first entry at 10 AM. If you have a driver, ask him to drop you at the end of the queue and then park the car.
The queue moves quite fast.
At the entry point, the tickets are checked but no one looks at the ID which one has to carry. Big bags and food items are banned. There is a separate security queue for men and women.
There is a defined one way path along which one has to walk which is quite narrow given the number of people.
In the first slot at 10, there are a large number of school children also.
First to appear is the Tulip garden with flowers of different colours. Most tulips are small.
Next is the bonsai garden
This is followed by water fountains, although the music is played but it does not synchronise with the fountains.
Then comes the central square with rashtrapati bhawan in the background, where there are flowers of different varieties.
This is followed by the rose garden, with roses of varied colors. There is rose smell in the air.
This is followed by another section which is circular with wide variety of flowers and a water fountain in the deep.
You then come out where you find a food court. There are four outlets and the rates are very reasonable. One outlet is managed by Samrat hotel and serves good tea for Rs 30 and hot samosas and aloo bonda for Rs 70. There are other things too. The next outlet is from rashtrapati bhawan canteen and serves cold beverages, ice cream, and chips etc. Then there is a private outlet serving burgers and chole kulche. Drinking water is free and bottles are also available at MRP. There is an outlet selling souvenirs. Few benches to sit in the food court
On the return one can visit rashtrapati bhawan museum after buying online ticket for Rs 50 per person. Commission is charged if you pay by credit card.
Time required to see the garden one hour. For museum you need one and half hour.
Toilet is available at the entry of the garden and you will find the same one at the exit. No toilet in between. There is one toilet in the museum building.
There are hundreds of people at all times and it is very difficult to click a picture without crowd coming in the frame.
There is arrangements for seating at different places.
Wheel chair can be taken although there are areas which are rough.
The road outside the exit is broken at many places. The exit takes you out through a crowded path milling with street food vendors and hawkers.

Kindly change it's name to official "Amrit udyaan" now as our government renamed it to the original one. It's not Mughal era we are living in now.

Mughal Gardens now known as Amrit Udyan opens at 10 am every day except Monday and public holidays though entry through gate no 35 is free but one has to book a time slot
The ticket is scanned at the gate only phone purse water bottle and keys are allowed inside if you are carrying anything else you have to put in the locker there
With sudden snow fall in the hills in northern India winter has prolonged as a result flowers are still not in full bloom
I suggest visit around end of February and in the afternoon as in the morning lots of school children visit
From the gate to the garden and back is around 2.5 km and there is no provision for a golf cart or similar walking is the only option though there are places to rest Enroute
Sharing few pics to describe the garden

We went on the very first day of opening of "Amrit Udyan" in 2024.
I do appreciate the pick & drop service to & from Central Secretariat metro station which made visiting easier.
The garden itself didn't have much to see or do. We didn't see a wide variety of flowers there.
The area is picturesque with Rashtrapati Bhavan (president's house) in the background. There's a couple of water fountains which are interesting.
Food is nominally charged (see pics for menu & rate list) but not great quality. The washrooms are clean and have soap.
All in all though a boring visit. Kids might enjoy this short picnic.

When my daughter from USA visited us recently, we planned to visit Delhi and at that time there were reports in the newspapers that Prime Minister had renamed the Mughal garden with some extra features and so we visited this garden, which is now known as AMRIT UDYAN, which means Garden of Nectar. As per the new procedure, the slot for the visit is to be booked online in advance and my daughter did it accordingly. From Ghaziabad we hired a cab and it took about 90 minutes to reach the main gate of the garden, which has recently been changed for the purpose of parking and security. There was heavy security. We were thoroughly frisked and joined the que for entry to the garden. No food items and bags including ladies purses are allowed to be taken by the visitors inside. Of course, small water bottles were allowed. All visitors are directed to follow que and the route manned by security staff was to be strictly followed. The garden is really very beautiful but it was very much crowded and so the photography is also difficult because of movements of people. There are different sections for different types of flowers and herbal plants in the garden. Origin of all these plants with their names are depicted for students of botany to understand. Some of the plants are of rare variety. We took some photographs with the background of President's house or Rashtrapati Bhavan. The cafeteria is also available that provides many types of snacks, soft drinks, tea and water etc. This garden opens around last week of January or early February, i.e., spring season for about a month every year when the weather is pleasant and always draws a lot of crowd. The entry is free but online booking is a must.

I visited on Friday 2pm slot. Heat was not unbearable because trees provide cover. Time slot is not strict. Free parking is on road at gate no.35, garden entry gate. Initially you may find garden ordinary but it's best part is awesome. You may not find such flowers anywhere else. Try food at cafeteria from 1st counter as you enter it. Click plenty of pictures. Do carry full water bottle because water is at the end

We went on Sunday for the 4pm slot and the place was very very overcrowded. Instead of being able to enjoy and see the flowers, we were jostling with the crowd for most of the time. The concerned authorities should really do some capacity planning and only allow the number of people whom they can manage. Limiting the number of people allowed to enter will also let them enjoy the majestic place in a much better manner. The whole joy was lost in the massive crowd. Very very disappointed with the experience.
Few points to note - Cars can be parked in the whole of the North Avenue (we had parked in the Museum parking on the Mother Teresa Crescent and walked from there). Phones are allowed inside. No one checked our ID cards.
I feel it will be less crowded during weekdays or during the morning hours (but not sure)

Take your best camera along... Beautiful collection of flowers with a backdrop of Rashtrapati Bhawan... 3 gardens in all. Rose garden is good too.It will be a 2 hours well spent . The show lasts from second week of Feb for a month .Try to go in the earlier days (february ) as it gets hotter towards the last days. wheelchair accessible which you can get at the check in. Toilets and drinking water easily accessible. This time it was online booking. Tickets could blow up really fast in that case...
