I used to visit the temple on early Sunday mornings, on a 30 minute bus ride. It remains one of my favourite temples because of its rich historical significance and spiritual vibe. I visited the temple much before Dec 2023. I will definitely recommend it to anyone interested in visiting ancient temples.

It was so good and the sohail akshtar was very nice and kind man the room was very clean and healthy maintained so good I like the way he treated us and the room

This is situated between two busy streets in downtown Chennai. The surroundings are a bit chaotic but the temple is special. Ancient and beautiful.

People from many parts of Chennai have their regular visit to this temple, to have their darshan and get blessings of Mother ..
It is also said that Chatrapathi shivaji had his darshan in this temple ..
He also gave his sword as a gift to this temple..
Many VIPs come regularly to this temple ..
There is also a powerful prithyangira Devi sannithi in this temple at the entrance itself..

It's famous old temple in Chennai near Madras High court/Chennai beach station. Temple ambal is powerful and will fulfill all our prayers. It's says that kalikambal is another form of Kanchi Kamaatchi. It was said to be built in 1678 by Shivaji, the Maratha warrior and the founder of the Hindawi-Swarajya in the 17th century, Temple is located in Thambi chetty Street a prominent financial street at Georgetown which is walkable at 15 mins distance from high court or Chennai beach suburban station,5 mins from Mannady Metro station.

This is the first time i visited this temple. It's very big temple and most of all very very peaceful after went to this temple. Will definitely go again if got the chance.

044-25229624, 25250023, 25241122 these are the temple phone numbers. Tuesday Friday Sunday temple office timings - 5 to 1 morning, 4 to 9 evening Monday Wednesday Thursday Saturday temple office timings - 6 to 12.30 morning, 4 to 8.30 evening. Beware most of the temple officials cannot speak English properly they speak tamil only. Sometimes if the officials are busy in outdoor work or busy with pooja rituals they may not pick up the phone. So you have to keep trying at different time. If you can speak tamil then better.
