This is one of the premier colleges of India providing engineering studies. Besides various streams of engineering, there is significant research and incubation also being done here. The campus is extremely natural and green and various animals and insects and bird species can be found here.

Hi.. I'm looking to arrange for a photography session at the IIT Madras as many of the past visitors have mentioned that this is one of the best places in the city for clicking pictures.
Can someone please share a contact information from the Institute that I can speak to and take permission from.? Any information a.s.a.p would be highly appreciated as I'm running out of time already.

Can we simply visit the IIT campus even if we dont know a student inside the campus ? Do we need any permission ?Can we take our own cycles inside or is there a place to rent a cycle ?Please help

Hey, its necessary to know someone in IIT . It could be student or staff or alumni . They surely allow cycles inside. Its awesome to cycle around the campus. Only if its some specific event happening inside IIT, you can enter. Else you do need to know someone. May be you can try requesting them prior. I haven't tried this before. I will be going there today. May be I can ask and update you :)

You can register as a visitor at the gate. Take a campus bus to move around or walk around the campus.
