This store has the kindest people - so customer friendly, really kind people and a lot of free Indian tea 🫶🏻 I bought a lot of beautiful clothes, souvenirs and postcards. This store is truly incredible and the owner is amazing! ☀️

I visited the sunshine shop several times to buy beautiful presents.
It felt very homely. I was served tea and had some good chat about the world's depth and silliness.
Akash can get you a simcard, train tickets, spices, blankets, cold water - everything you ask for. He even had things ordered and handmade in silver for me!

Questo piccolo negozio nel centro merita una visita. Sarete accolti da due fratelli che sono gentili ed onesti nel proporvi oggettistica, abbigliamento e varie altre cose tipicamente indiane a prezzi giustissimi. Offrono anche bevande locali ed alla fine resti con loro per un’ora ed il tempo passa senza che tu te ne accorga. Certamente un must di Calcutta.

Had a lovely return visit to Sunshine and had a lovely time with the brothers. Found some lovely gift items, even some postcards. Will come back on our next visit.

Hemos pasado un grupo de voluntarios 3 semanas en Calcuta y siempre que he necesitado algo, ha sido mi total lugar de confianza.
Ya no sólo por sus productos si no porque la tienda tiene todo lo que necesitas para pasar ahí la tarde entera: buena compañía, música, té a veces incluso, e infinidad de artículos. Es un plan perfecto y los dueños te hacen sentir en casa (sobre todo que además hablan fenomenal español). Por favor no dudéis en pasar por ahí (o pasar el día).
Un beso muy fuerte desde aquí a Akash y todo el resto de esa pequeña familia, todos valéis mucho.

I have been coming back here for gifts since 2013. I am always welcomed and they remember me every time. There is so much variety for gifts. Things are priced very reasonably. I looked at one item here that I also found in New Market. The starting price in New Market was 4 times the price! This is what keeps me coming back. The guys here understand that repeat custom comes from not trying to cheat people. The tag line on their business card is "We respect human relationship".....I would absolutely agree that this is the essence of their business. Keep up the good work guys! I'll be back!

These are the nicest staff in the world so friendly and helpful! Great shop, 5 stars and a must if you're in Kolkata. Really good for solo or group traveling or volunteering. Great souvenirs and presents at excellent prices.

I’ve been in and out Kolkata for 6 years and this is the only place I stop by to shop and the place my wife and I bring friends to. Sure if you’re visiting you must stop by Mew Market, feel the vibe and take pics but keep your wallet closed for another 5 mins.
At Sunshine, the owner is friendly and will take good care of you. Take your shoes off, have some chai, and watch as he navigates through his inventory to find the perfect item for you. Avoid the hassle and herd like feeling of New Mark and stop by and take care of all your souvenir needs.

Spent 4 months in Kolkata and did all my shopping and train bookings at sunshine. Akash and Alam were always so helpful, and they became real friends. They will help you to live India even more!

Does anyone know if their Harlem looking pants would work for plus size women. I am going to work at the mother homes for 2 months and my team andI were planning on buying the pants when we get there. But before we get there I want to make sure I'll be able to fit in them. Thanks for your help!
