We stopped by this place after finding it online and stumbling across a card at a local art museum. The sign on the door stated to call the number but the owner walked up before we did. *this is somewhere you must call first* We were inquiring about classes but this is not an option here. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and there seemed to be quite a bit of pottery to choose from in his shop.

We stopped and really enjoyed our visit. It was not open; but I called the number and the guy was there within 5 minutes to open up for us. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Very cool artist with so much more to offer than the usual. Conversation was as high quality as the art. A place to return, no question.

Talented potter and really nice guy! He has everything from functional pottery to planter heads for your garden. His barnacle sculptures are amazing. I own one of his planters and love having it in my garden.

I got an awesome moonshine jug from Steve dark and everyone totally loves it. He's a fun guy to talk to and his shop is really neat. Stop by and see him for something different than the norm!!

Steven Dark's pottery is wonderfully eclectic. You will find one of a kind unique beautiful pieces along with coastal one of a kind pieces. Whether you need a shrimp fairy, tree fish, or pottery.....Pottery central is that place. Located near Tacky Jacks on the canal, his pottery shop if filled with artist surprises.

I first met Steve when he was my ceramics teacher at Faulkner State Community College in Gulf Shores.
As the years went by, I got to know him as a peer and a friend. His work is so unique, and he is a great person to know. Definitely stop in and check out his zen garden! Love ya, Steve!

Some of the most unique, hand-made, items in clay. From functional wares to whimsical caricatures, and sculpture. Steve Dark has it covered. The setting was once the old Post Office in Gulf Shores (if I'm not mistaken) and visiting Steve there and talking art is a pure joy. I have quite a little collection at this point and will be stopping by soon to replace a broken piece that I cherished for the last 3 years. Keep on keepin' on Darkman!
