This is a great way to get a quick introduction to the food culture of Shanghai. Our group of six, guided by Emma, moved quickly and ably from one eatery in the French concession to another. The restaurants were prepared for us, so we did not have to wait for the food for any long time. There was never more than five or 10 minutes of walking between, and we had a sampling of great appetizers, dumplings, soup, mains, beer, and dessert. There was a good variety of flavors and ingredients and it was fun to meet the other tourists as well. I recommend it highly.

Awesome way to kick off the first morning of my Shanghai trip! Angela was our host and she was super fun and knowledgeable on all the cuisine and Shanghai culture / history in general! Learned a lot and had great conversations, all while enjoying delicious food and coffee. Highly recommend!

A really nice walk through a great leafy neighbourhood, with loads and loads and loads(!) of good food. It ranged from holes in walls to a nice place to sit, and Lost Plate really tried to give us the Shanghai highlights. Perfect for people in a rush who may not have time to investigate all that Shanghai has to offer.
I must admit that I chose this specifically because there was coffee included, and I'm so glad I did, with Shanghai's great coffee culture. Both cafes are dog-friendly, with *fantastic* coffee, so as a dog-loving coffee fan, this was the perfect. I also loved that there were "Lost Plate specials".

Well worth doing this tour. We had fabulous food and our tour guide Joy was excellent, very knowledgable and lively and fun to be with. So great to be lead around the French Concession and see places we would not have seen otherwise. Thank you!

We LOVED our tour with Angela. It was a perfect way to start our time in Shanghai as we discovered breakfast snacks that we’d be able to find the rest of our time. Perfect for traveling foodies.

This is a fantastic choice for a local food tour. Samantha, our tour guide, took us for a lovely evening along the culinary choices in the French Concession, explaining all the different dishes and sharing a lot of insight into Chinese cuisine and the history of Shanghai. Just a perfect start for our Shanghai Trip and a great tour that will fill your stomach with many tasty dishes.

Thank you to our tour guide Emma and to Lost Plates for an amazing food tour. We loved all the food options and the nighttime walk through the former French Concession was magical. We would never have found all the hidden alleys on our own. Highly recommended!

My wife and will be in Shanghai for a few days in Apr/May this year and want to do the breakfast and evening tours. While not wheelchair bound, we take a folding portable transport chair for long distances. She can easily walk a few hundred yards at a time & climb steps on her own usually. Would this work on your tours?

For evening tour, I’m pretty sure it would work. It involves nice level sidewalks, and an elevator rather than stairs. For breakfast tour, as long as she’s not in an actual wheelchair it shouldn’t pose much of a challenge. I’d encourage you to email the company and discuss directly. They are super friendly and would plan ahead to accommodate. Don’t let this hold you back. I went on both tours in December, so can vouch for them!
