I had a bad experience at JZ club that made me reevaluate to what extent Chinese people are just “ignorant” and not “racist”. My white friend was able to waltz into the club while I was denied entrance due to my darker complexion. This is the first tine I experienced this type of discrimination in Shanghai, I have to admit, I’m truly disappointed. I will make sure to never go to the JZ club ever again

很喜歡這一家酒吧，7天旅程就來了2次。看當晚演奏陣容而定有沒有入場費，週末人超級超級多的。酒調得不錯。很喜歡用上紅色，走老上海餐廳的情懷，配上現場演奏的Jazz，在現今Pop songs 世界中跳出來感受舊年代的Jazz music，感覺進了時光隧道一樣。

Fantastic atmosphere and service with delicious cocktails. Booked a table in advance for 4 of us which was comfortable and private.

This place was recommended by a friend of mine to listen live music and drink something. The band and singer was absolutely perfect. You enjoy a good evening. But I have to criticize their entrance fee which they had ended after 15 minutes of my visit to there. Reasonable prices can cover this disadvantage

We arrived quite late and the band was basically playing only for us. We could only order beer which is fine but it turned out that it was already "not too fresh", was very sour and 2 of my friends had a hard time after that. Despite that I would like to go back one day and check it out when its not too late and drink something else...

Can understand the frustration of some other reviews, but ignoring the steep cover charge it is a nice club. Some visitors are not exactly jazz/blues fans are just newly rich locals spending money and loading up their smart phone with footage. I enjoyed the night with local star singer LiQuan.

This isn't the same JZ Club that used to exist on Fuxing lu. The old one used to be a warm welcoming place for foreigners. This one doesn't seem to want foreigners at all. They are appealing to Chinese people who are going to pay the money for a table and then spend big bucks on drinks rather than go there to listen to the music. Fair enough I guess but they shouldn't advertise this as a Jazz place. There's no real place to stand and listen to the music so the staff were quite aggressive in motioning us to a table rather than let us stand at the back and watch. The conversation got quite angry when we told them we were just going to sit at the back. In the end we just left after all paying 100rmb and 60rmb for one drink each. The worst part was the music which just seemed like a stock Filipina bar band rather than Jazz music. The bar is located in some crappy mall that might as well have been labelled "Bar Area" at a Disney theme park. Rubbish experience. Go somewhere else.

Went to JZ to see a great band that I have been following. JZ was really good when it opened but it has gone down hill fast. I understand paying a cover charge. I understand paying increased beverage charge when a band is on. I don't understand being charged both! Rip off. As a foreigner, I was charged 100rmb while Chinese walked right in no charge. Sitting at a couch we were told we had to pay 1500 min service charge. 1700 at this point for 2 people. To which we agreed and then were abandoned without service for an hour. I had to walk to the bar to get a drink. Yes it was busy, but we were ignored whilst locals got all the attention from the staff. Ordered a piece of dried out cheesecake and a few beverages. By first Intermission we were up to a tab of 700 rmb. Easily going to exceed the minimum charge when we were kicked out of our seats to give them to a group of Chinese.
Shame on you JZ. There are plenty of jazz places in shanghai. Unless JZ contacts me with an apology I will never go back and will make sure to tell anyone who asks all about the blatant descrimination bordering racist behavior.
Overcharging, ignoring and forcing people to give up seats because they are foreigners is completely insane this day I age. I have seen some foreigner up charging in my years in china. But never so blatant and apparent. JZ club can get bent. Enjoy our music, enjoy our liquor and food, but when it comes to foreign people e pet to be treated like trash.

Cover charge is the sole reason one may dislike this club. The cover charge is unusually high given the other live music venues in Shanghai. There are many talented Jazz and Blues musicians in Shanghai. Unless you wish to pay the highest rate in Shanghai to see Jazz you may consider going elsewhere.

場所は巨鹿路158号（延中广场内）上海の老舗のジャズバーで、上海のジャズ好きで知らない人はいない店でした。理由まではわかりませんが、移転せざるを得なかったようです。現在の場所の方が騒音問題が発生しにくいと思いますが、以前の場所の方が趣きがありますね。今の場所は色々な理由で移転を余儀なくされたお店の集合体になっていて、あの永康路から移ってきた店もあるようです。公園内ですが、地下になっているので、付近の道路からは店が何処にあるのか見えません。公園内に入って変なコンクリートの枠が見えたら中を覗き込めばわかります。以前の店は白人の溜まり場でしたが、現在は中国人の方が多いみたいです。
