Shanghai master 1000 tennis is a must if you want to learn how well tennis ranking players are appreciated. People from all over Asia came to cheer for Djokovic. Lots for Wawrinka e some for Murray who ended up winning the championship. We had a blast. The food court is large and offers a lot: we had the best duck of the four we tasted. Service is great even without English: they know how to take advantage of google translate. Pretty soon you no longer need to learn a language to communicate!

I have lived in Shanghai for 6 years and I play tennis here with a Monday ladies group and a Friday ladies group. The facility is part of a huge sports complex with 3 huge bubbles to house 12 tennis courts. You can walk on or book a court in advance, though with the rising of tennis in China, advance reservation is recommended. If you are visiting, no problem, they have a pro-shop for racquet rental, you can even hire a pro to play/hit with you!

We are travelling as a tennis group to Shanghai. Would visitor to Shanghai be able to book these tennis courts in advance?
