I had a 14 hour layover in Shanghai en route back to Gatwick airport, had to enter China and make the most of Shanghai before a very late night long flight back to UK. I really needed a spa break, I was exhausted but explored around the Nanjing Road area before going to The Peninsula which is considered the best and most luxurious hotel in Shanghai and the hotel spa is highly rated. It was superb, I got a day use pass, it's not cheap obviously but it's certainly close to actually staying in the hotel without paying even more and I was lucky enough to enjoy the facilities to myself as it was a quiet afternoon. Staff were all lovely and made me feel welcome. The pool is large for a hotel swimming pool and there's a hot jacuzzi next to the pool. Steam room and sauna separately in both men and women's changing room areas, so it's very private. The whole spa area was super clean, very relaxing. They offer various skin treatments and massages here, but I didn't have enough time to include a treatment. If I get another chance I certainly will treat myself. After the spa experience I had a delicious club sandwich in the lobby and a cocktail at Sir Elly's bar on the 14th floor to view the stunning Shanghai city views all lit up before I got the metro back to Pudong airport in the evening. I slept for most of my flight back to England thanks to this wonderful experience.

Most beautiful and big pool I ever seen at a hotel. Also have different versions of saunas and showers. I didnt know that the also had great views from the pool and that they had a hot-tub. Higley recommened both for couples and for familys!!

Peninsula Spa is definitely one of the best Spa in Shanghai. Top quality environment with state of the art facilities including the most beautiful swimming pool of Shanghai. Good management and good team. No language problem because most of the key employees speak fluent English and Chinese.
I used this Spa only twice in the past. It's a great experience. I love the gym, outdoor jacuzzi, swimming pool and the super clean locker room.

Ho fatto un massaggio memorabile, di grandissima qualità. Il costo è elevato, ma vale la pena. Il luogo è bellissimo e l'esperienza merita.

I am a big fans of spa so always try different spa in different hotels when I travel
I usually love a lot the peninsula spa in Bangkok ,Tokyo and hk . So let me give a try to the shanghai peninsula
Service level is great as the staff are quite attentive . I did walk in and ask for the Menu to have a look first . when they give me a menu, they also offer me water. Once I confirmed what treatment , they start to offer me some house made tea which is quite nice
I decided to do a long time aromatherapy massage as I was too tired . First I went in the facilities which are very basic with sauna , steam and the cold ice fountain. I think in Hk the sauna at least gets the Victoria harbour view, but here no particular view and more basic. I recall Tokyo facilities also a bit more sophisticated . Bangkok relaxation room also gets an amazing view . But shanghai spa offer more drink like coconut water in sauna area which is great
My technician she is very skilful though . I feel amazing experiences. And also I like people and process is clean. She always clean her hands in between touching me versus other stuffs, she also make sure I have non wet shoes and rope to wear, very caring and attentive. I can regard it as excellent service
Will definitely come back if I visit again next time

This was my second time visiting The Spa at the Peninsula Shanghai and it never disappointed me. I appreciate Diasy's prompt reply on avaliability via email as well as Betty's personalized and warm service at the spa reception; that's the way you can differentiate "good" and excellent" service in a pool of 5-star hotels. Finally, if you enjoy masseur with thick and warm hands, try Tony,the only shanghai master at the spa, his experience and techniques can tell through his hands!

Jag hade en helt magisk spakväll här tillsammans med min bästa vän. Poolen är helt magisk. Har aldrig innan simmat i en sådan magisk pool. Gjorde även en behandling som var perfektion på alla sätt. Prisvärt! Personalen var dessutom helt underbara.

Just finished a massage with therapist tony who was amazing. Excellent customer service skills and great hands. Worked in the problem areas of my back perfectly. Would highly recommend him and this spa. Reception staff were excellent as well! Thanks for making my day

whenever i travel to Shanghai, i also choose to stay at The Peninsula Shanghai, the service level is just at the highest level, from the Doorman, to the Concierge, Reception Staff, Dining Room Staff, The Spa (include all therapists) everyone in this Hotel is exceptional, i feel when i stay here its like being at home and better. i would strongly recommend this place.

Magnifique expérience de soins et de Yoga dans ce lieu magnifique.
Le cours de Yoga particulier au bord de la piscine était tout à fait adapté à mon niveau , avec une prof d grande qualité
