The tour was amazing. The enthousiasm and love that the guide showed for his work was very nice to witness. We learned a lot about animal rehabilitation and the important work that they do.

This was hands down the best tour we have ever done in Costa Rica. Our guide was amazing. A great mix of humor, education, and a ton of knowledge about the animals. The highlight for our 3 and 6 year old was getting to make breakfast for the monkeys and watching them eat it. We had a blast and would gladly do it again when we come back to Costa Rica.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide was Bradley. He was fantastic, and so knowledgeable about the amazing Costa Rican wildlife. We read other reviews about how good this was, yet it still exceeded our expectations. A huge thanks to Proyecto Asis for all the amazing work you do for the creatures that have been rescued. Seeing this was one of best things we have done in Costa Rica.

Absolutely the best experience in our time in Costa Rica! What an incredible family and team making a ripple effect in the world. The most welcoming and warm hosts. We are grateful to have spent time there. Fun, beautiful, educational, and hands-on. Highly recommend staying the night and having coffee in the morning with the boat billed herons. Plus, some of the most delicious local food just down the street.

This sloth tour was informative and we were able to see a young sloth moving around! It was our best sighting of a sloth in our whole trip! Our guide was so knowledgeable and you could tell he truly loves and cares about preserving the wildlife of Costa Rica.

We our animal lovers, so we wanted to do something that helped animals while also learning about Costa Rican wildlife. Our day was amazing - we learned about all the animals they had rescued and then got to prepare their breakfast. It was so incredible and all of the people working there were amazing!

What is the best way to get to Proyecto Asis from La Fortuna? I will not have a car, but I assume I will be able to arrange taxis to and from my Airbnb?

Mon mari aime les animaux mais ne souhaite pas leur donner à manger : malheureusement, je ne me vois pas le laisser seul à l'entrée à m'attendre pendant plus d'une heure ...

Par exemple, parfois, les parents paient le «Tour + Volontariat» pour leurs enfants et ils ne paient que le «tour régulier» (cependant, les parents attendent à la réception que la partie supplémentaire de leurs enfants se termine).

Why type of interaction do you get with the animals during the wildlife and volunteering tour? Looking to get involved and would like to know how involved you actually get. I’ve heard nothing but excellent things about this sanctuary and would like to know a little more before we make the journey there.

I think it might depend on what animals are present when you visit. But if my memory is correct, the animals that are able to be rehabilitated & returned to the wild will not have any ( unnecessary) human interaction. The others, that cannot be rehabilitated, have minimal human contact because they are trying to provide the most natural habitat as possible for them. Having said that- we were able to have brief contact at the end of the day with some small monkeys... they took pieces of fruit from our hands...Great fun! We really enjoyed our time here!

Yes. The place is somewhat secluded. The parking area is right by the main entrance and is visible to the receptionist. There's no one wandering around the area who doesn't belong to the place.

There are several facts that makes us different from a zoo. All the animals that we care for are here because they needed help. We do our best to release as many of those in need as possible, but it is not always possible. The tours mention the situations of the animals and why they stay or why they go back. I am having trouble getting on touch with Viator about this trip and another one that has been booked!
Have tried email and a text asking them to whatsapp as I have a British phone and cannot afford to call
