Really great experience and super friendly guide, perhaps more information on the process of how things are made would have been good. But overall, had a wonderful time and really enjoyed it. Would recommend!!

Loved that the tour moved quickly, was interactive and included lots of tastes of the local fruit, coffee and chocolate! This is great for kids as they get to engage with the process of pressing the sugar cane and grinding the cacao.

I picked this tour to specifically support small business. It is a family run farm. They gave us lots of fruit to try, 90% cacao bites, hot chocolate made from the farm produced chocolate, and coffee from freshly harvested & roasted coffee beans. It was fun learning about the plants.

Amazing tour they feed you the most amazing fruit and after learning about everything Chocolate you get the best freshest chocolate ever it was so interesting and a great experience

This was a lovely tour overall but the tour is really only partially chocolate related. You should go support this family-run business regardless. It is a beautiful property in which they are growing many things beyond cacao. I especially loved the fresh fruit served during the beginning of the tour. The fresh chocolate they make with the added sugar cane and vanilla is really delicious, be sure to buy some on your way out.

This was a favorite activity for our group of ten couples on our trip to LaFortuna. It is a working family farm. Our guide was entertaining and spoke both English and Spanish. We tasted generous samples of foods grown on the farm including bananas, pineapple, papaya, star fruit, oranges, sugar “water” from the sugar cane squeezed fresh as we watched, and even “Rum Chata” made on site and available for purchase! At the end we sat and enjoyed servings of freshly ground coffee grown onsite, as well as fresh hot chocolate made with ingredients from the farm, and chocolate candy. Highly recommend!!

We loved this tour! It's a small family farm where so much is shared beyond chocolate. We saw "Maria" the sloth up in the tree; we tasted bananas, papaya, star fruit, and fresh orange juice that we squeezed - all delicious. We watched as sugar cane was run through a hand cranked press and we tasted cane juice and then homemade rum! We went on to walk through the grove of cacao trees and learned about the varieties of cacao. The tour concluded with us enjoying hot chocolate made from the ground roasted beans/nibs, tasting coffee, and trying their homemade chocolate. We truly enjoyed every minute of this tour and highly recommend it to anyone spending time in La Fortuna.

We loved this tour. Minir showed us around their small but lovely farm and allowed us to eat the variety of fruits that grow there. As we walked through we learned more about Costa Rica and her agriculture.
Our tour guide, Minir, is a very funny man.
Great personality. And the dogs on the property added to the experience.
Other nice touches that added to the tour included them juicing sugarcane right in front of us, grinding the cocoa bits into a paste and making hot chocolate for us, and introducing us to the tastiest vanilla.
We really enjoyed this tour.

We are in town March 6th and 7th and would like to come for a tour. Are you still operating tours? I hope so, but I've tried phoning with no answer. This is our second attempt to try this tour. The first was November 2016 and we had to cancke all our trip due tu huricane Otto

We will have our own vehicle. Do you suggest driving there on our own or getting picked up? I noticed some were guided there by the owner.

OK, You have great reviews and I decided to do this tour. I reserved this tour when I made all my reservations back in April/May earlier this year. I sent numerous emails to confirm this trip but now you are not answering my emails. I had my reservations confirmed for Dec 29, at 10:30am and picking me up at my hotel at Manoa. Now I look at this and you have a reservation thing with trip advisor and no pick up and time is different? Please send me email back, I do not mind paying in advance but I do need pick up because I have no car. Please clarify.

Is there one tour time that is better or worse than the others? Thinking about doing a 3PM tour the Dec 15th, want to make sure it would get too dark too soon that time of year.

Honestly, I think any time would be good. Figure about an hour and a half or a little more for the tour. The last 30 minutes or spent in the "factory" Learning about the process of the beans, but I'm not sure the factory/pavilion has lights. I think it will be getting dark right about the time you're finishing up and leaving, so I think 3 PM would probably be fine.
