We booked a zip line tour online and we’re able to connect with Alex on WhatsApp to confirm our pick up location. He picked us up on time and we enjoyed chatting with him on our way to the ranch. We had Alan and Stuart as our guides for the zip line and they did a great job with instructions and ensuring we had a fun time. The kids loved it so much they are begging to go back again before we finish our vacation. Thanks to all at!

We went to this wonderful facility for my first time ever zip lining!!😳. Being afraid of heights I was sceptical if this would happen…. Thanks so much to our amazing two guides who made it so much fun and exercised patience with me. 😂. I ended up being the first to try the new line (unknowingly) which was so much fun!!!🎉. They made it so comfortable that I even decided I would go upside down on the last run… 🥳
Back at the ranch we were welcomed by the owner who gave us the best snacks ever!!!
A ton of laughs were had by all and I would highly recommend this facility!!!

The incredible experience with Black Stallion Eco Ranch started with Alex, the owner, who was able to work us in at the last minute and arranged for roundtrip transportation to the JW Marriott Guanacaste resort. (Thank you, Alex!) It's also accessible by car if you are staying in the Tamarindo area.
We booked a combo package of zip lining, ATV driving, and the BBQ dinner, and we are so glad we did. The day was a highlight of our short time in beautiful Costa Rica. It was a first for us zip lining and ATV driving, and I'm afraid our experience with the team at the Black Stallion Ranch set the bar high for other future experiences. After a fun and adventurous ride to the top of the mountain, the two zip-lining guides were not only incredibly knowledgeable about safety but also of the area, floral, and fauna. The guides made us feel safe, and made it fun, and shared stories about the history of the forest and their efforts to preserve the area.
We followed that experience with an ATV ride in the nearby woods, with some fun off-roading and traversing shallow creeks. We took the ATVs an hour or so before sunset, so we got to see incredible sunset views and a family of black howling monkeys...so amazing! We returned to the ranch to freshen up before dinner. Fair warning: you may want to avoid eating all day because of the amount and variety of delicious grilled meats, sides, salads, wine, and beer served at the BBQ dinner. Set in a rustic, covered, open-air dining area of the ranch, the local chef knocked it out of the park.
Just as good as the setting and meal was the lively dinner conversation with people we had just met (it so happened to be three couples from Canada) and the stories Alex shared about his days as a professional surfer. If you're lucky, the resident parrot, Cookie, will make an appearance. We highly recommend you visit the Black Stallion Eco Ranch and open yourself to the warm and excellent hospitality of Alex and his team.

Contratamos el paquete Canopy & ATV y almuerzo.
Llegamos a las 9am, ahí nos recibieron muy amablemente y nos explicaron que íbamos hacer. Nos pusieron los equipos y cascos de Canopy y arriba de un camión fuimos a una plataforma que se veía todo el Horizonte la finca es preciosa. Subimos a la plataforma y recorrimos las 9 estaciones disfrutando mucho, los guías son preocupados de la seguridsd y el equipo está en buenas condiciones. Terminado el proceso un break refrescos y directo a ponernos el equipo de las motos, recorrimos senderos de distintas complejidades cruzamos Rios vimos monos el guía muy preocupado que todos estemos disfrutando nos tomo fotos y videos. Terminado el proceso nos hizo una sesión de fotos. El almuerzo exquisito un plato típico de Costa Rica todo bien cocinando y fresco rico el postre. Un panorama redondo 13:30 terminamos felices y muy agradecidos de la atención permanente del dueño Alexander. Muy recomendable no se arrepentirán.

Alex picked us up in Tamarindo and drove us to his private ranch in Santa Cruz. There was one other couple already there, and we chatted and were served fresh orange juice Alex had bought from a stand on our way.
His resident horse expert graciously and patiently matched us all with a horse that best fit our abilities and carefully and attentively led us on our ride. The horses were all gentle and easy to ride and control.
Our leisurely paced ride brought us to the high point of the ranch in time to get off our horses for a break while we enjoined a panoramic view of the sunset. After we took photos with the horses and view and saw the sun setbelow the horizon, we rode a few minute back to the ranch.
Once at the ranch we met Alex’s parrot, Cookie, and enjoyed hearing him talk and feeding him.
We were offered wine, beer, and other beverages. Our meal of pork, chicken, salad, vegetables, and something new to all of us called water apples was outstanding. We ended with a delicious pineapple dessert that was also new to all of us. Of course the ambience was incomparable to anything we could have found elsewhere.
When the evening was over, we said goodbye to our other new friends, and Alex returned us to our hotel. He was a consummate host, and our time with him at his ranch was unforgettable.
This is an experience not to be missed. We recommend it 100% with no reserve.

Me and my colleagues booked the ziplining experience with Black Stallion and had an amazing time!! Alex is such a wonderful host and owner and the whole staff was amazing.

Spent an amazing morning at Black Stallion; the owner Alex is a great guy and made sure we had the best experience on his ranch. We originally booked an afternoon ATV and zip line followed by the BBQ dinner but it was rainy season and it was pouring when we arrived at the ranch. Alex suggested we reschedule for the next morning and a BBQ lunch which was smart; it rained for the next 7 hours straight! Next morning we started with the zip lines and while they aren't the longest lines, they are so fun and our family of 3 teen girls and 2 adults loved every minute and felt very safe on the lines. Then we hopped on the ATV's and our day got even better! Up little hills, across shallow riverbeds that got us a little muddy, it was an unforgettable ride. We arrived back and were going to swim a bit in the pool but lunch was ready and it was just the icing on the cake. Truly the best meal we had in Costa Rica and we couldn't believe the amount of food; chorizo and ribs, beans and rice and the yummiest desert. The staff on the ziplines and ATV were incredible (3 weeks back in real life and I can't remember their names, I'm sorry!) and the woman that made our lunch was the sweetest lady and made us feel so welcome and made our bellies happy. Do not skip this place, it was such a highlight of our trip!

The Best Day Ever!! Before we even landed in Costa Rica, we knew we wanted to visit Black Stallion. We booked the zipiline/horseback/dinner combo. I must say it was the best dinner we had the entire trip. There is a lot of love put into everything that goes on once your in the gates. The owner goes above and beyond and the staff.. there isn't enough space to explain how awesome they are. Book your trip now, you'll love it.
p.s. Make sure you try their chimichurri sauce, ooh and their homemade punch

What an amazing place and super nice people!
First we went zip lining which we had never done before. The crew made us feel really safe and we loved it. Super exciting to fly over the trees! 9 lines in a row, even people afraid of heights can do this.
Then we went horseback riding with Canducho. That was super relaxing. The horses were calm and a little bit cheeky which made it fun.
Then quad biking (ATV), what an incredibly exciting ride that was. Muddy paths, rocky roads and deep puddles get your adrenaline pumping. Be prepared to get dirty! Thank you Alex and crew, for this fantastic experience!!!

We had an amazing time zip lining at Black Stallion. We put our son in a spanish immersion camp in Tamarindo that includes a field trip each Tuesday. This week the staff took the kids to Black Stallion and invited the parents to come along. The guides were amazing with the kids, including my 6 year old who had a blast riding tandem with a guide for his first zip lining experience. Would highly recommend.

The easiest is to let a local call. I always had the resort we stayed at call. The owner is from South Africa and speaks great English. You can do horseback ride and zip and bbq combo. Or 4-wheeler and bbq combo.
We have a car and will be driving there. Is that ok. If so will the tour include everything on arrival. What time would we arrive
