I throughly enjoyed this two. It’s essentially broken in two parts. The first part is a trip to a nearby farm where you get to walk through part of the farm, how the coffee trees are planted is explained and I was lucky enough that there was some fruit which was ripe enough that I could taste some. We saw at least three varieties of arabica trees. Then the harvesting and processing of the beans is explained and I could to see the various machines used in the process. My tour guide for this Milia was excellent. After the tour of the plantation we headed back to Britt coffee for the second part of the tour (this part can be done as a separate tour as well). In this part you the origins of coffee is explained, growing process (they have the plants at various stages of initial life), harvesting, processing and of course you get to try four different types of coffee on the way. They then explain the roasting process and then show you how cupping is done. Apa and Tina were the guides for this and they were both excellent. Lunch is also included at the end and it was very good and very generous portion size. Transportation was also included in this and Max (trusted taxi driver) was very good. Overall if you like coffee and interested in its history (and history in Costa Rica) I highly recommend this tour. All up it’s about 6 hours in duration

Perfect tour for families and groups with kids or teens. They make it fun and interesting for everyone, even non-coffee drinkers. They inject humor and enthusiasm into the whole presentation. I can’t recommend it enough!

Slow service, prices for what they offer very high, the old uncomfortable cafeteria, would not return, I think they abuse the tourist

We recently did the Cafe Britt tour, which lasts about 90 minutes. It's very informative, and you learn a lot. Since it's outdoors, make sure to wear bug spray and sunscreen. Our guide, Luis, was funny and informative, even tossing chocolate pieces for correct answers! The tour ends at the souvenir shop, where the deals are better than Duty Free. We didn't do lunch or any extra additions, but it was a great experience overall.

I highly recommend this tour. Educational and informative. We booked tour when we showed up at the plantation. Reasonable prices - family of four was $104. Gift shop was also reasonably priced with discounts the more you buy. One of the better tours in Costa Rica where you don’t feel you are taken advantage of. The tour guides offered a great deal of information and answered a lot of questions . Britt is not far from San Jose so not as windy as other tours .

Today we had the opportunity to take the Britt coffee tour and the truth is that we thought it was fantastic, accompanied by our guides Chuz and Luis, total geniuses who made the tour super interactive and informative. This tour is a must - not just for coffee drinkers either. Our guide Luis was one of the most engaging guides we have had on any excursion. I would say he is an expert on all things coffee, and he had a great sense of humor, and held everyone’s attention the entire time. Just fascinating. We were also impressed with the lunch buffet. Reasonably priced as well. Highly Recommend.

I am planning my husbands first trip out of the country and can’t wait to show him Costa Rica! We are coming during the rainy season and I know it mostly rains in the afternoons. How much does this affect the tour?

During the rainy season it pours down for a while and then it clears. So the rain shouldn't interfere with the tour, unless there is a "temporal", a few days of constant light rain. This doesn't happen often and wearing a poncho would still allow participation in a tour.

I booked a tour, but no charge appeared on my card. Prior to departing USA I sent an email requesting transportation from our hotel . No response. When we arrived we had received no communication. We did not visit Britt. Upon returning home, I found $175 charge but no contact had been made. Why did you charge me when you did not respond so that I would know there was a reservation?
I believe you owe me $175 as no service was provided and I asked weeks prior to the date for information. Please respond by providing your

Tomé el tour que incluye visita al volcán por lo que desconozco si puedes hacer el paseo sólo a el cafetal. Estar ahí no implica más de dos horas y rápido puede ser una hora. Es caro y no se su tan interesante. si has estado en otros cafetales y sabes de café, no vale la pena. Yo no lo haría de nuevo y el café es más marketing que sabor
